Philip W. Schiller, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing at Apple, indulged a customer by replying to a rather arrogant email asking the executive about the lack of an auto-brightness setting in the fifth-generation iPod touch.

Raghid Harake noticed that his new iPod touch didn’t offer the usual auto-brightness setting generally found in the Settings menu for every iOS device out there.

So he decided to take this matter up with SVP Phil Schiller, emailing him about his discovery.

Harake addressed Schiller in a trivial manner, saying “Phil, I have noticed that there is no auto-brightness setting on my new 5th generation iPod touch. Care to explain, Sir?”

Schiller replied in a pacific manner, saying “Hi Raghid, Thank you for purchasing a new iPod touch. It is a remarkable device! The 5th generation iPod touch does not have a built-in automatic light sensor (it’s just too thin!).”

Well, there you have it. The thing is just too thin. Can't complan about that, can you now?
