A new version of Aperture, the photography software developed by Apple Inc., is now available as a free download from the Mac maker’s Support site, as well as from Softpedia.

Aperture 3.3.1 is the latest release of Apple’s professional photo editing and management application for Mac users. The update fixes an issue that could cause Aperture to hang or quit unexpectedly when upgrading libraries, but only in rare cases, according to the Cupertino giant.

Aperture 3.3.1 incorporates all the enhancements delivered in Aperture 3.3 earlier this month. For example, users will get a new unified photo library for both iPhoto (v 9.3 or later) and Aperture which doesn’t require any import/export actions on their end.

Moreover, Faces, Places, slideshows, albums and web sharing work across both applications, Apple said.
