The official iOS Podcasts app from Apple has been plagued by issues ever since its June debut this year, but the Cupertino giant is not giving up. They’ve released a new update with some much-needed performance and stability improvements.

According to the release notes for Podcasts 1.0.2 posted yesterday in the App Store, this update “provides performance and stability improvements, including addressing an issue that may cause Podcasts to quit unexpectedly on launch.”

The changelog makes a reference to all of the changes included in version 1.0.1, which is full of bug fixes. Anyone who hasn’t updated their Podcasts app is very encouraged to do so.

Podcasts is a universal app designed for both iPhone and iPad. It’s compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 5.1 or later.
