Apple has released an updated Support document that offers a treasure trove of information regarding iMovie ‘11 and how to use it to create awesome movies on your Mac.

The documentation is not new, however Apple has recently made changes to the tutorials included inside. The document is a valuable resource of tips for using iMovie ‘11 to create and edit movies.

Users can learn how to add titles, transitions, music, and maps, create cutaway, Picture in Picture, Side by Side, and Green/Blue Screen effects, make range selections in the timeline, make audio waveform adjustments in the timeline, record video with the FaceTime camera equipped on every Mac, etc.

Other tutorials are offered for recording narration, swapping projects and event areas, finalizing projects, sorting events in the sidebar, and working with external hard drives. Users transitioning projects from an older version of the application can learn how to properly import their movies into the new build.

The Cupertino giant recently updated its iMovie desktop app to version 10.0.3, adding an option to sort events in the sidebar by date, the ability to change the font, size, and color of new titles introduced in iMovie version 10, the option to double-click a transition in the timeline to adjust its duration, and much more.

Users can now crop and rotate clips in events, add speed effects using the Adjustments Bar, and smoothly transition in and out of speed effects.
