Mac maker explains what each icon means and how you should act on them

Apple says that as soon as you add a computer to iTunes Match, you should begin to notice new icons appear in your Music library.

The company has posted a table for users to refer to so that they know what iCloud is doing with their content, or what is not doing, when it should.

For example, you may see the “ineligible” icon, which means your song is (you guessed it!) ineligible to be uploaded to iCloud via iTunes Match. Why? Because it’s either in the wrong format, or it exceeds the 200MB limit for individual tracks. It may also be that it’s encoded at 96 Kbps or less, says Apple.

Other symbols are shown for tracks that have been removed or duplicated, and some indicate that iCloud is waiting for some process to finish, or that it’s encountered an error.
