Simply solo all the tracks you would like to hear after undoing duplicate track

Apple has noticed (probably after reading some customer complaints) that GarageBand exhibits strange behavior in certain circumstances when the user duplicates a track. Specifically, the tracks go silent. But luckily for the users, there’s an easy fix.

A Support document titled “GarageBand for iOS and OS X: Tracks might be silent” aims to provide a workaround for the issue in question, listing the following “affected” products: “GarageBand, GarageBand for iOS (iPad), GarageBand for iOS (iPhone, iPod touch).”

In other words, the issue exists in all versions of the software, both mobile and desktop.

Under “Symptoms,” Apple explains that users who “create or duplicate a track, solo that track, and then choose Undo (which undoes creating or duplicating the track),” will notice that “all other tracks will remain silent.”

This is not exactly normal behavior, but Apple isn’t rushing out any software fixes just yet. Instead, the Cupertino company offers the following resolution: “To resolve this issue, solo all the tracks you would like to hear.”
