Apple has just announced a new release of Logic Pro for audio professionals. The company calls Logic Pro X “the most advanced version of Logic Pro to date.”

Available from the Mac App Store (soon enough), Logic Pro X features a new interface designed for pros, new tools, and a bigger library of instruments and effects.

Drummer is a new component of Logic Pro X that provides a virtual session player that automatically plays along with your song. Flex Pitch provides integrated pitch editing for audio recordings, while Logic Remote enables users to play and control Logic Pro X from an iPad.

Logic Pro X and MainStage 3 are available today, the former selling for $199.99 / €179.99 and the latter for $29.99 / €26.99.

Logic Remote is a free download. Apple offers a complete list of system requirements and compatible hardware at www.apple.com/logicpro.

Update: Logic Pro X and MainStage 3 are now available for download.
