Apple has reportedly hired a former Senior VP of Technology Development and veteran employee of CableLabs going by the name of Jean-François Mulé. The guy knows his stuff.

An expert in software development for cable applications, Internet data, IP voice and video, as well as standalone TV apps, Mulé is said to have been working in a challenging and inspiring role at Apple since last month.

According to Multichannel News, he is “challenged, inspired and part of something big,” which bodes well with the flurry of reports over the past few years regarding a potential big-screen TV from Apple.

The Cupertino giant is constantly beefing up its offerings on the existing Apple TV product so, undoubtedly, Mulé will offer his contribution in that space as well (if he hasn’t done so already).
