Proview Technology’s lawyer, Xie Xianghui, has confirmed that his legal team is preparing to discuss settling the iPad trademark dispute with Apple out of court.

Xianghui declined to offer any specifics, according to The Times of India, but he did say that Apple had told Proview it had “peaceful intentions.”

“We are now preparing for negotiations,” Xie said, adding that a Shanghai court is already scheduled on Wednesday to hear a case by Proview against Apple. “The court cases will continue until we reach an agreement,” he mentioned.

Ben Cavender, a senior analyst at China Market Research Group quoted by the Indian paper, believes “Apple has so much cash, they will look at the situation, they will look at how their profits are going to be impacted, and if it looks like it is going to be significant they will just pay and take care of it.”
