14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has finished mass producing the iPhone 3GS as it moves into the next-generation product cycle, leaving the iPhone 4 as the oldest-selling version, with the iPhone 4S likely to be priced more attractively, after the iPhone 5 debut next week.
Apple is instructing Geniuses at its retail stores across the world to replace faulty iPhone 3GS units with iPhone 4 handsets, should their respective store have depleted stocks of the former.
In other words, Apple is now working to phase out its 2009 smartphone, making room for the 2010 iPhone 4, in accordance with tradition.
If all the rumors surrounding the next-generation iPhone are to be believed, Apple this week will send out invitations to a press event slated for September 12, during which it will introduce the new phone alongside iOS 6.
