More than 475,000 apps are designed specifically for iPad, Apple says

The iTunes App Store is now home of 1 Million unique apps, almost half of which are specifically designed for the iPad. The electronic software venue is available in 155 countries around the globe.

In its iPad Air press release, Apple yesterday confirmed that “iPad customers have access to the revolutionary App Store, which now offers more than one million apps to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users in 155 countries around the world, and more than 475,000 apps are designed specifically for iPad.”

The Cupertino giant also noted that customers worldwide were responsible for a whopping 60 billion downloads since the App Store’s inception in 2008.

Customers can choose from a wide range of categories – 24 in total – including newspapers and magazines, games and entertainment, a kids section, education titles, business apps, news and sports apps, health, fitness, travel, and more.
