The 4G-capable iPads sold by Apple are no longer listed under the dubbing ‘iPad WiFi + 4G’ following international criticism regarding the tablet’s wireless capabilities.

To make a really long story short, Apple’s 4G claims are being disputed in courts around the world because of customers claiming they’ve been misled by the company’s marketing materials - 4G is not what they expected. Apple said this was fair enough and has now changed the product’s full name to “iPad WiFi + Cellular.”

The description has also undergone some minor changes since the new iPad’s debut. Apple now states that the third-generation tablet computer “connects to the Internet over Wi-Fi and fast cellular data networks — up to 4G LTE.” Customers must get in touch with a cellular data service provider to sign up for a month-to-month plan with the ability to bail out any time.
