Apple today is celebrating World AIDS Day by featuring red Apple logos throughout its retail stores. On its web site, the computer company links to the World AIDS Day event hosted by Stereosonic in Sydney, Australia.

An initiative kickstarted by U2 lead singer Bono and successfully sustained by partners like gadget vendor Apple, the PRODUCT (RED) campaign dresses up products in red and gives a portion of the sales to the American Red Cross and other foundations that help fight AIDS in Africa.

“Every day, 700 babies are born with HIV. (RED) works with companies like Apple to fight for an AIDS‑free generation by creating (PRODUCT) RED merchandise,” reads the official description. “A percentage of gross profits from the sale of those products goes to the Global Fund to help fund AIDS programmes in Africa.”

(RED) has garnered hundreds of millions of dollars for the Global Fund, a good portion of which comes from Apple’s sales of PRODUCT (RED) iPods, iPads, and various accessories.

Party people can immediately access the Stereosonic stream featuring David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Sebastian Ingrosso, and more.
