Following the departure of Ron Johnson, Apple has been quick to instate someone new to conduct the company’s retail operations, and that person is Steve Cano, according to an exclusive report.

Cano, who is one of the first retail employees Apple ever hired, has been promoted to SVP of Retail, according to Cult of Mac.

Apple is yet to make the news official, but it’s expected to do so quite soon. After all, there’s no point in being secretive about who’s running the retail division, right?

The Cult describes the man as a California surfer type whose first job at Apple was manager of the flagship Palo Alto store, some ten years ago. For the record, that’s the local Apple Store of the late Steve Jobs.
