Founded by Kenan Aktulun shortly after Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone to the world, the iPhone Photography Awards (IPPA) celebrates the best pictures taken with an iPhone every year.

The first and longest-running iPhone photography competition since 2007, iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) celebrates iPhone users’ creativity

IPPAWARDS has selected the best photos from thousands of images submitted by iPhone photographers from more than 70 countries around the world.

According to Kenan Aktulun, founder of IPPAWARDS, “You’re not carrying an iPhone because you’re taking pictures. One of the great things about the iPhone camera is that when you see and feel a moment that triggers an emotion it’s there with you, and you capture that. The biggest difference is that you don’t take a picture because you have the iPhone, you feel the moment and it happens to be with you.”

This year’s entries were submitted by 54 photographers from 17 countries, including Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

We’re proud to report that we’ve spotted at least two shots submitted by photographers from our home land (Romania), and both works are featured on the main page of 2014 iPhone Photography Awards (photos #2 and #10 in the above collage).
