VSTAU Manager For Mac

VSTAU Manager aims to help you adapt VST plug-ins to be used by AU host applications, such as Logic Pro or GarageBand. The app comes with a minimalist user interface and automatically detects the installed VST plug-ins.

When you launch the VSTAU Manager app, the utility scans the VST folder included in the users' Library directory (the complete folder path is /UserName/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/ ) and lists in its main window all detected VST plug-ins.

As a result, you get to see the name and manufacturer of each plug-in, the version, if it comes with MIDI support, the I/O configuration, the VST version, and the VST file path. Moreover, VSTAU Manager also enables you to see if a certain plug-in has been adapted for AU hosts or not.

Within the VSTAU Manager main window you can choose to install or uninstall the currently selected VST plug-in, or batch process all entries. Note that VSTAU Manager will not tamper with the original VST plug-in files.

When you choose to install a VST plug-in for AU hosts, VSTAU Manager will generate a new .component file in the /UserName/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ folder. The new resources will be used by the AU applications, such as Apple Logic Pro, Apple GarageBand, Ableton Live, REAPER, and more.

To sum up, VSTAU Manager offers you the possibility to view details about currently installed VST plug-ins and quickly convert them into components that can be used by AU host apps. The utility comes with a well-organized interface and proves to be intuitive to use.
