What's new in iMaginator 4.2

Mar 14, 2008
  • Licenser is between twice and a 1000 times faster!
  • Added drag, open and drop on dock support for 20 new image types: JPEG 2000 (jp2), Pentax Raw (pef), Leaf America Raw (mos), Hasselblad Raw (fff), Hasselblad 3fr (3fr), Sony Raw (arw), Adobe Raw (dng), Apple Icon (icns), Olympus Raw (orf), Panasonic Raw (raw), Microsoft Icon (ico), Microsoft Bitmap (bmp), X Bitmap (xbm), Truevision TGA (tga), SGI Image (sgi), QuickTime Image (qtif), Kodak FlashPix (fpx), MacPaint (pntg), Radiance (pic), and Industrial Light and Magic Open EXR (exr)
  • Rendering speed doubled - handles large images much better
  • Cool new application icon by Joel Dabrowski
  • New Filter: Replace Color: Tasks -> Replace Color: lets you replace any color in the photo with another color, apply as many of these as you want to alter your photo dramatically
  • It's very easy to reuse a base image: First item in Effects Library and Images Library is "Reuse Base" image for dragging in; Holding down "Option" key when adding a filter with an image will "Reuse Base" image
  • Tasks -> Mask with Image to easily mask just a portion of your base image - the masking image needs transparency and the base image will mask to the bits in the masking image
  • Paint now has a Low density option which paints every other pixel
  • Option key when clicking "Add Paint Layer" puts paint into erase mode
  • Option key when clicking "Add Base Image" sizes it to 100%
  • Set Crop... window is automatically validated as you type
  • Leopard ready - 16 new filters!
  • Fixes the 'License Limit Exceeded' problem on Leopard
  • if you want the sliders to only update the picture when you mouse up (as opposed to continuously): Preferences -> General -> "Slider update on mouseup". On large images, this can give much better performance. Note: change takes effect next time you add/delete a filter or open a new document
  • Names of images exported through image well are shorter
