New in eMail Verifier 3.5.4 (Aug 18, 2010)

  • New features
  • Error Detection by server response
  • eMail Verifier main task is to simulate a message delivery in order to collect the server response. That response is then analyzed to determine if the address is valid (or not) by using a built-in set of rules. That set is made of 80 rules we created after processing dozens of thousands addresses in the last years. As a result eMail Verifier is able to catch up to 80% bad addresses and to validate good ones successfully.
  • Support for Enhanced Mail System Status Codes
  • We now also lookup the Enhanced Mail System Status Code when available. This code allows eMail Verifier to find out if the delivery of a message to an email address would generate a hard or a soft bounce (Fatal Error or Warning). It also gets an explanation of the error that caused it. The list of error codes is available in RFC-3463.
  • DNS lookup balancing
  • In order to resolve host names and to get information about Mail Exchangers, eMail Verifier uses the standard dns lookup mechanism. By default we use the system settings however you can set the software to use your ISP or your own DNS servers. When using custom DNS servers it is now possible to balance domain lookup load between them. The advantage of this is mainly to avoid overloading a server with a lot of requests in a very short amount of time. Entering 2 DNS servers eMail Verifier will distribute the requests equally.
  • Custom result export
  • Now you have the choice between saving the results maintaining the original input format as usual or selecting the type of information you really want like for example the server response or the address type between others. As a result you can fully tailor the output file depending on your needs. The new Export window is far easier to use and straightforward than before.
  • New interface
  • The whole interface has been redesigned and simplified in order to display more information at the same time. The main window is split into two parts, the list as usual on the top and a tab panel with 3 panels at the bottom giving access to the overall results and statistics, the detailed SMTP server response and the DNS lookup details of each address in the list and the connection log. You can select what information to display at any time and resize the tab panel. The first panel also includes a pie chart showing the Valid/Bad addresses ratio so you can easily find out about the quality of your list.
