  • Like many of you, the VPN Tracker team is working from home during this time. Rest assured that we continue to offer full support to our customers and have taken steps to increase our support capacity.
  • In this update we have DNS and Connection Checker improvements, as well as numerous improvements and fixes for connection issues.
  • Improved Remote and Split DNS Handling:
  • We have improved the way VPN Tracker configures Split DNS and fixed some inconsistencies. Please take a moment to check your Remote DNS setup if you see any unexpected behaviours after updating:
  • Improved: VPN Tracker 365 now writes split DNS configuration to etc/resolv.conf, to improve DNS support for certain non-native tools and libraries
  • Changed: If you had a Host to Everywhere connection set up with Split DNS, VPN Tracker would use global DNS instead. This has been changed. If experience DNS issues, check that your DNS search domains are correctly configured
  • DNS settings for Host to Everywhere connections are now more reliably removed after stopping a connection
  • Connection Checker Improvements:
  • Connection Checker: We've fixed an issue that caused incorrect results for OpenVPN and SonicWALL SSL checks on older macOS releases
  • Improved suggestions and error messages for NAT-Traversal issues found by Connection Checker

  • Added a workaround for an issue in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion that prevents a remote DNS server from being set for all domains.
  • If you received a pre-release version from our support team, you can safely update to this version. If you modified your remote DNS settings to work around the issue, you should be able to return to your previous remote DNS setup with this version.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause DNS search domains to be ignored with Cisco EasyVPN.

  • In addition to activation using an equinux ID and password, it is now possible to activate an expired demo version using license vouchers.
  • Quitting the application now executes any stop actions configured for running connections and waits until these connections have been properly disconnected.
  • VPN Tracker is now more permissive when connecting to remote networks that are a supernet of the locally configured network.
  • After a first time installation no administrator password will be required to activate or de-activate a license. An administrator password will still be required for updating VPN Tracker, migration from VPN Tracker 4, and for resolving rare error conditions.
