New in Unsplash Wallpapers 1.2 (Dec 14, 2018)

  • his update includes one thing and one thing only.
  • Story time. The original Unsplash logo was a generic camera icon. It was generic on purpose. We wanted Unsplash to be all about beautiful images. A distraction-free zone where nothing got in the way of that. Not even a logo.
  • Fast forward to today and we now see that same camera icon all over the Internet. In fact, most sites/apps use our “logo” as a symbol that represents “upload a photo”. If it’s found on one of our partner’s sites, there’s a chance that it links out to Unsplash. There’s even a bigger chance that it will launch your front-facing camera for a selfie.
  • Today, we’re excited to share with you our new logo. A simple, unique symbol that represents Unsplash, the Unsplash community and everything around it. You can read more about our new identity on our blog at medium.com/unsplash
  • Let’s leave the old camera icon for what it was always meant to be used for: launching your camera app.

New in Unsplash Wallpapers 1.1 (Jun 4, 2018)

  • In this version, a little improvement that will make some people happy, and a new feature that we call Time Machine. That was our idea.
  • First, the improvement. The application now changes the wallpaper on the current monitor only. So you can keep your favorite cat/baby photo on one monitor and let Unsplash Wallpapers update the other. If you want the wallpaper to update across all of your monitors and spaces, we’ve added a new preference that you can enable.
  • Now, what’s this time-machine we mentioned earlier? It’s simply a history of all the photos that you go through in the preview and set as a wallpaper. There’s an icon in the top right corner to access it. Photos that have a checkmark are the ones that were used as a wallpaper previously.
