Ultra Fractal Changelog

What's new in Ultra Fractal 5.54

Nov 6, 2014
  • OS X 10.10 Yosemite support

New in Ultra Fractal 5.53 (Aug 16, 2013)

  • Fixed a bug that caused the priority of fractal calculations and display updates to be too high, reducing general responsiveness.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the histogram in the Statistics tool window from being drawn at all.
  • Fixed a bug that caused license keys with accented letters to be rejected.

New in Ultra Fractal 5.52 (Aug 6, 2013)

  • Now includes Extended Edition features: animation and network calculations.
  • Fixed a bug when resizing the fractal window horizontally or vertically on OS X Lion or Mountain Lion while the 'Resize to window' is enabled: previously it was only possible to enlarge the window in this way.
  • Fixed several issues with hiding and showing the dock bar. In addition, if the dock bar is hidden, the vertical bar that remains is now thicker to make it easier to restore the dock bar on OS X Lion or Mountain Lion.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the mouse cursor to remain in the 'resizing' state: this could easily occur in the Layer Properties tool window.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause mouse events to be ignored after double-clicking in the layers list.
  • Various minor bug fixes.

New in Ultra Fractal 5.51 (Aug 18, 2012)

  • Added Cmd+Shift+S keyboard shortcut for File > Save As.
  • Added Developer ID signing for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
  • Fixed graphics problems (e.g. the fractal window would not redraw) on OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
  • Fixed incorrect mouse behavior in Full Screen mode: e.g. double-clicking would zoom twice instead of just once.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Red and Blue merge modes to be swapped in the fractal window (but they worked correctly when rendering to disk).
  • Fixed crash when dragging files from the Finder over the browser in Ultra Fractal.
  • Fixed bug that caused the explore/eyedropper buttons to disappear in the Layer Properties tool window when in floating mode (not docked).
  • Changed the default gamma value that is saved when exporting or rendering to file formats that support this (e.g. PNG) to 2.2, the default value since OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). This ensures that if you re-import a rendered image, the colors will stay the same.
