New in TransformMovie 1.2.8 (Oct 14, 2011)

  • Added the "Kaleidoscope" filter type to the frame rotator.
  • When you choose to rotate by frames, you also have the option of applying a (Core Image) filter to each frame, such as Color Posterize. Numerous filters are a available, and the program currently uses the "default" settings of each available filter. Hence, if you choose a rotation angle of zero degrees you can use TransformMovie to simply output a filtered version of the original movie. The following filters are available: Kaleidoscope, Gaussian Blur, Zoom Blur, Color Invert, Sepia Tone, Bump Distortion, Circular Wrap, Hole Distortion, Torus Lens Distortion, Twirl Distortion, Vortex Distortion, CMYK Halftone, Color Posterize, Dot Screen, Color Monochrome, Hatched Screen, Bloom, Crystallize, Edges, Gloom, Exposure Adjust, False Color, Edge Work, Crystallize, Color Invert, Circular Wrap, Circular Screen, Color Matrix, White Point Adjust, Unsharp Mask, Pixellate.

New in TransformMovie 1.2.7 (Sep 27, 2011)

  • Added two new preferences in the "Rotation and Filtering" pane of Preferences: "Flip Horizontal" and "Flip Verticle." These options reflect the frame images around the image-centered verticle and horizontal axes, respectively.

New in TransformMovie 1.2.6 (Sep 20, 2011)

  • Added two new preferences in the "Rotation and Filtering" pane of Preferences: "Flip Horizontal" and "Flip Verticle." These options reflect the frame images around the image-centered verticle and horizontal axes, respectively. (When you rotate using the "Frames" method, you have the option of filtering or flipping frames. This is only available in Mac OS 10.5 and above.)

New in TransformMovie 1.2.5 (Mar 12, 2011)

  • Added a Help menu, which points to a web location that contains sample files and updated documentation for learning the program better.
  • Some text in Preferences was made larger for improved readability.
  • Fixed a bug with navigation dialogs: when the user cancels from within them sometimes the operation would still try to continue as though a file or folder was selected.

New in TransformMovie 1.2.4 (Dec 10, 2010)

  • When rotating frames, the direction of rotation was the opposite of what was specified in Preferences, so clockwise rotation was counterclockwise. This was fixed.
  • More alerts are displayed when certain errors arise, such as trying to save the output movie to a location where a file by the same name already exists.

New in TransformMovie 1.2.3 (Oct 30, 2010)

  • A new method of rotating movies is introduced in order to improve the compatibility of the rotated movies with various movie players. Previously movies were visually rotated by applying a rotation matrix to the track of the movie. A new rotation type called "Frame Rotation" is now available (using the "Rotate What" popup menu in the Preferences window.) This method rotates each frame of the movie, inserting the rotated frame into a new movie. The side effect of this process, if it is selected, is that rotating a movie requires much more time and computation, and the resulting movie will generally be larger than the original (although you can use other tools, such as AddMovie, to reduce that size by exporting it to a different format.)
The following filters are available: Kaleidoscope, Gaussian Blur, Zoom Blur, Color Invert, Sepia Tone, Bump Distortion, Circular Wrap, Hole Distortion, Torus Lens Distortion, Twirl Distortion, Vortex Distortion, CMYK Halftone, Color Posterize, Dot Screen, Color Monochrome, Hatched Screen, Bloom, Crystallize, Edges, Gloom, Exposure Adjust, False Color, Edge Work, Crystallize, Color Invert, Circular Wrap, Circular Screen, Color Matrix, White Point Adjust, Unsharp Mask, Pixellate

New in TransformMovie 1.2.2 (Oct 19, 2010)

  • The Preferences window has been significantly improved for clarity and ease of use. Instead of using one single panel to contain all the various options for the program, they have been collected into named groups using a tab control. This helps you find and understand their function: Rotation, Size and Duration, Saving. (None of the options or their effect has changed.)

New in TransformMovie 1.2.1 (Sep 15, 2010)

  • Rotation setup in Preferences has been simplified in two ways: The degrees selector demarcations have been labelled with common values, such as 90 or 180 degrees, and the option to specify how to rotate the movie is now always set to track rotation.

New in TransformMovie 1.2.0 (Mar 5, 2010)

  • The movie duration setting now supports specifying the number of seconds using decimals to two (2) places, as in 12.43 seconds. Previously you were restricted to numbers with no decimal point, as in 12 or 13.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.9 (Mar 29, 2009)

  • Updated Portuguese localization.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.8 (Feb 4, 2009)

  • Added a button labeled "Current..." in the movie duration section of Preferences which you can use to display the duration of a movie. A dialog will be presented for choosing the movie file.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.7 (Jan 9, 2009)

  • Added Greek localization.
  • Fixed the localization of the "choose folder" dialog window and the password window.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.6 (Jan 5, 2009)

  • Added German localization.

  • Added Portuguese localization.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.4 (Dec 11, 2008)

  • The program now supports unicode filenames.
  • The file navigation dialogs no longer display invisible items.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.2 (Aug 25, 2008)

  • A new text field for specifying the rotation in degrees has been added to the Preferences window as an alternative to using the slider control.

New in TransformMovie 1.1.1 (Aug 14, 2008)

  • An new option for rotating clockwise or counter clockwise is available in the Preferences window. (Previously rotations were always clockwise.)

New in TransformMovie 1.1 (Mar 13, 2008)

  • The scale factors can now be decimal numbers. This enables you to now shrink the size of a movie by a given factor, or expand it by a non-integral amount.
  • When renaming files for avoiding name conflicts the program now appends the current date and time to the file name, rather than a "UUID".

New in TransformMovie 1.0.9 (Feb 9, 2008)

  • The duration of the movie can now be specified as a percentage of the current value.
  • The preferences window was not updating the display of the path to the output folder when its name or location changed. (Although the output was still properly placed in the renamed or moved folder.)
  • The program now remembers the position of the status window between sessions.

New in TransformMovie 1.0.8 (Feb 7, 2008)

  • The movie can now be scaled using x and y coordinate scale factors. In particular this enables you to flip the movie horizontally or vertically by making the x or y scale factor negative, respectively.
  • Other minor enhancements to the user interface.
