  • ToyViewer is now applicable to Dark Mode of macOS 10.14 Mojave.

  • There was a phenomenon that mouse cursors of ToyViewer could not be displayed in Mojave. This problem is fixed.
  • The function of Inspector to select an area on a scaled image can work correctly now.

New in ToyViewer 5.5.1 (Jun 28, 2017)

  • Tabs are now available in the windows. When tabs are being displayed, if you do some operations such as change of the color tone or adding of transparent color, new image will be displayed in a new tab instead of in a new window. This function is effective only when the newly displayed image is the same size as the original image. Also, in multiple tabs displayed in one window, the display position and the magnification scale are synchronized.
  • In order to comply with Apple's security policy ATS (App Transport Security), the function to display the remote file by specifying the URL is removed.
  • Bug Fix: ToyViewer would hang when the color panel is used to select colors.

New in ToyViewer 5.4.0 (Apr 3, 2014)

  • You can see RAR archive files as well as ZIP. ToyViewer can also read a RAR archive split into several files.
  • New function "Scratch Out" is added, which is something like that painting out the selected area with a pen.
  • (Bug Fix) On the Save panel, specified extensions were not displayed correctly.

New in ToyViewer 5.3.1 (Aug 15, 2013)

  • Help document is included in the application.
  • When you see image files in a directory in the full-screen mode, you can use scroll gestures on the trackpad to proceed forward / backward.
  • The Preferences panel doesn't give functions about the behavior of the trackpad any more. They are provided by the System Preferences.
  • With the Prefereces panel, you can make the resizing knobs inactive, that appear on the image by double-clicking.
  • Bug Fix: The operations (e.g., replacement of colors, addition of transparency, etc.) sometimes changed the tone of an image. Such behavior is suppressed.
  • Bug Fix: When a custom icon was appended to a directory, the specified image wasn't drawn on the icon as expected.

New in ToyViewer 5.3.0 (May 30, 2013)

  • ToyViewer 5.3 can display and save images in WBMP (Wireless Bitmap) format.
  • The new function "Extension Edge" that enlarges the dimension of an image is added. Extension is done by filling with a solid (or transparent) color, by padding with the most outer pixels, or by stretching out the edge.
  • The new function is added to make monotone (white or black) images with alpha channel. The transparency is added according to their brightness.
  • Clip operation without the selected area makes the copy of the image, as if the whole of the pixels is selected. This action is the same as version 5.1.2, but it was prohibited in 5.2.4.
  • When an image with multi-page (or multi-frame) is displayed, a button appears at the bottom right of the window to activate Multi-Page Inspector.
  • Bug Fix: When a monochrome image was saved as a PNG image file, its format became PNG with palette. Currently, ToyViewer can correctly save a monochrome image as a monochrome PNG.
  • Bug Fix: The sub-panel of the preferences that makes ToyViewer the default application of each image format didn't work as expected.
  • Bug Fix: In the English version, "Height" button of the resizing panel couldn't work.

New in ToyViewer 5.2.4 (Apr 23, 2013)

  • More secure with SandBox.
  • You can Undo/Redo the selection on the image. With Command+Dragging, you can exactly specify the size and the location of the selection. In addition, you can move the selection using the arrow keys.
  • Print Inspector is added. With the inspector, you can specify the way to print each image. Moreover, the bug that causes crush during print setup is fixed.
  • Malfunctions with the Retina display are fixed.

  • BUG Fix: Version 5.10 for Snow Leopard couldn't remember the path of the directory which had been read previously (maybe a bug of API).

  • You can display each image file in a zipped archive file one by one in full-screen. Besides, you can retrieve marked images from the archive. (You can't see archive files in zip-format with password, and in other formats such as rar, tgz, etc.)
  • You can open the image file by specifying its URL. You can type the URL on the panel. Besides, if the string of the URL is copied in the pasteboard, then you can display the image.
  • If the full path of an image file is copied in the pasteboard, then you can display the image.

  • Color profiles embedded in image files can be replaced. Exif and GPS information are also displayed.
  • You can save image files with/without Exif and GPS information.
