  • This version contains all changes listed for version 2.4.7.
  • Fixed a bug, introduced in version 2.4.7, which caused the Tinnitus Tamer to crash if a session was allowed to stop automatically followed by a the selection of a new session with the 'Play' button in 'Stop' mode.
  • When opening the Tinnitus Tamer the last run session is now hightligted.

New in Tinnitus Tamer 4.1.0 Build R06 (Feb 2, 2010)

  • The tone mode selection interface has been improved. There is no longer a basic and advanced tone control mode. The tone modes are now controlled by three buttons only.
  • Added a feature to allow skipping one or two frequencies in any session. The skipping of a frequency is selected with the tone mode button for the frequency to be skipped. This allows the creation of training session of only those frequencies, which are most effective for a Tinnitus sufferer.
  • The square tone session button, which were previously numbered 1 to 9, have now a long rectangular shape. The button contain descriptive titles, which can be edited by the user. To edit the titles, option-click in the space to the right of the buttons, or select File > Change Session Button Names...
  • The session duration can now be set individually for each session. When saved, the duration will be remembered for each training session.
  • The session duration of a training session can be set from 0.05 to 30 minutes. You change the session duration by option-clicking on the session time, or by selecting File > Change Duration of Training Session...
  • Added a feature, which allows users to set the duration of any training session to exact multiples of the tone sequences.
  • All above features are available when creating sound files. This makes it possible to save only one training session in a sound file, which results in a very small sound file. This small file can then be played in repeat mode on an iPod or any other sound software, which has a repeat mode.
  • Added a Save Alert when you quit the Tinnitus Tamer, and there are unsaved changes in the last tone mode used.
  • All controls and displays used during playback are now located together in the lower right side of the main window.
  • When saving a sound file, the file name suggested is now the button title of the session being saved.
  • Some minor bug fixes and interface improvements.

New in Tinnitus Tamer 4.0.0 Build M11 (Mar 23, 2009)

  • The licensed version of Tinnitus Tamer 4 lets you create sound files form tone sequences. The sound files will be saved as a high quality AIFF files at a 44100 Hz sampling rate. The AIFF file size is typically about 200 MB. To play the sound sequence on another computer copy the AIFF file to the other computer. To play the file on an iPod, open the AIFF file in iTunes. Once the AIFF file has opened in iTunes, select Advanced > Create AAC Version from the iTunes menu. The converted AAC file size is typically about 5 MHz

  • Please note that the Tinnitus Tamer 4 is a paid upgrade. The upgrade fee is $10.00. However, if you purchased a Tinnitus Tamer between March 1, 2008 and March 30, 2009, the upgrade is free.

  • The HTML code in the Apple Help file has been updated to be compatible with OS X 10.4 & 10.5.
  • The Adjustmet delay time, introduced in version 3.0.5, has been increased from 20 seconds to 30 seconds.

New in Tinnitus Tamer 3.0.5 (Oct 10, 2008)

  • Version 3.0.5 introduces a feature to make it easier to make precise frequency adjustment. When any of the three frequency sliders is clicked or moved, the frequency corresponding to the touched slider repeats for 20 seconds. Any time the slider is clicked or moved again, the repeat time is reset to 20 seconds from the last click or move.
  • The main window has been updated to make it easier to read with the new (darker) metallic grey used in the current version of OS X 10.5. The labels of the Play and Pause buttons have been changed to ease identification of the state they are in.
  • The ability of Tinnitus Tamer Window to remain in the background when another window is selected in the Finder, which was lost in OS X 10.5, has been restored.
