What's new in Solfeggio Studio for Piano 1.11

Dec 12, 2016
  • Updating with latest framework libraries.

New in Solfeggio Studio for Piano 1.10 (Oct 1, 2015)

  • Received a serious facelift to it’s multiple choice view. Possible answer choices are now in agreement with the settings. For example, if you have “show first inversion for chords” enabled in your settings, than answer choices will include chords with first inversion (ex. C Maj inv 1). However, if “show first inversion for chords” is disable in your settings, than you will not have answer choices with inversions in them. In addition to that, wrong answers choice are closely correlated with the single correct answer, for example, if the correct answer is A4, than other possible choice may be A#4, B4, C5, and G#4. All in all, correct answers no longer stand out, you actually have to know the answer to get it right.
  • In addition to the virtual piano view, and your MIDI instrument, it helps to use the multiple choice view, especially for ear training, where you want to be training your ears, and not your visual memory.

New in Solfeggio Studio for Piano 1.9.0 (Jul 23, 2015)

  • Has several new features and bug fixes.
  • The application now supports multiple plugged in MIDI devices. The particular device to be used can be chosen from settings. Also, incoming MIDI signals are now processed on all possible MIDI ports.
  • The note trainer and ear trainer received a “Random Instrument” playback capability. With this option, the application will sound each new question with one of thirty five randomly available instruments. This is a great way to teach your ear pitch, versus memorising the timbre of a particular MIDI instrument on a particular computer, being heard over and over again.
  • The ear trainer received a “Random volume level” option. This is another tool to change the sound just enough that the ear is forced to concentrate on pitch, versus memorising timbre of a particular MIDI instrument on a particular computer.
  • The ear trainer received a “Replay Sound” button which depending on the context replays single notes, intervals, chords, or scales.
  • Most instruments in the MIDI playback bank have been fixed and are now very useful, rather than useless. For example, the cello now sounds as you would expect in all sections of note trainer and ear trainer where as before it was a continuous sound that lasted the duration of the question timeout value (10 seconds by default).
