Recabinet Changelog

What's new in Recabinet 5.0.4

May 27, 2016
  • Recabinet now properly stores and recalls IR paths in Pro Tools upon startup.
  • Recabinet now smoothly crossfades between preset changes, as it has in the past. This was accidentally omitted in 5.0.3 when the codebase was rebuilt.
  • Windows installers are properly code signed (this has also been retroactively applied to live Recabinet and Thermionik 5.0.3 installers on the server.)

New in Recabinet 4.0.3 (Apr 6, 2015)

  • General:
  • Transitional update to address bugs in previous versions.
  • Fixes:
  • Bypassing Thermionik now works properly when re-opening sessions.
  • Screen heights smaller than Recabinet’s window are fully supported in all cases, using a scrollbar.
  • Tonal and level differences across sample rates have been fixed.
  • Amp models are now level matched using psychoacoustic algorithms, for much closer apparent loudness than before. You may need to update your presets accordingly.
  • The low frequency hum experienced in some versions of Pro Tools has been eliminated.

New in Recabinet 4.0.2 (Apr 6, 2015)

  • General:
  • Transitional update to address bugs in previous versions. A subsequent patch will be released to address issues in this version as soon as possible.
  • Fixes:
  • Recabinet works properly in all sample rates, and has been upgraded to a mastering class resampling algorithm for all sample rates. This also affects third party IR import. As a result, the plugin sounds even better than before, but you may need to adjust your presets accordingly.
  • In screen heights of 768 pixels or less, Recabinet’s window adopts a scrollbar so that all UI elements are accessible. In the next major update, the UI will be completely redesigned so that no scrolling is ever necessary, so this is just an interim solution.
  • DC offset noise has been removed completely.
  • Recabinet now behaves properly with Reaper’s built in preset manager.

New in Recabinet 4.0.1 (Dec 18, 2014)

  • Maintenance update to address numerous issues with the initial release.
  • Free demo of Recabinet 4 is available as of this version.
  • CPU usage reduced by 15-20% in most hosts.
  • Presence control issues have been fixed.
  • Bypass toggles now conserve CPU when modules are bypassed.
  • Odd noise burst issues have been resolved.

New in Recabinet 4.0.0 (Dec 18, 2014)

  • Initial release of Recabinet 4.

New in Recabinet 3.6.3 (Dec 3, 2013)

  • Fixed incorrect sample rate issues affecting Reaper users (and potentially affecting other DAWs under certain rare situations.)
  • Reinstated support for application sandboxing (added in 3.6.1, and accidentally removed in 3.6.2), to continue to fully support Logic X and GarageBand X.

New in Recabinet 3.6.1 (Nov 19, 2013)

  • General:
  • Fixed UI glitches that occasionally affected some users.
  • Fixed intermittent session load silence bug.
  • Fixed an issue where the internal preset load/save buttons wouldn’t consistently load settings for bypasses and mutes.
  • Ongoing update support for RTAS format has been officially dropped. Recabinet 3.5.1 is the final version of Recabinet for RTAS format. If you need to run the latest version of Recabinet on a 32 bit Pro Tools system, we recommend using AAX 32 bit in Pro Tools 10.3.7 or higher.
  • Mac:
  • Added support for application sandboxing, to fully support Logic X and GarageBand X.
  • Fixed an issue where the installer was placing factory presets in the wrong folder. Use the included presets installer to install factory presets.
