  • Frame:
  • By default the screenshots will not include the frame. Hold the OPTION key to include frame
  • General:
  • Fixes a crash in non-English locales

New in QuickLens 1.8 (Jan 8, 2016)

  • Frame:
  • You can now do screen recordings right inside the Frame tool. Use the video icon on the Frame Info Bar or use the V key to kick off a screen recording. Hold the Option key when clicking on the video icon or press Option V to configure your recording.
  • Toggle between a Normal border and a Thick border with the B key. With a thicker border the Frame becomes more prominent on the screen.
  • Tape:
  • Tape now allows you to overlay and do shape measurements with a Circle, Square, Ellipse or a Rectangle. Switch shapes with the S key. Use the inspector to see detailed measurements.
  • Monocle:
  • Monocle has an additional shape: a wider rectangle. This is in addition to the Circle and Square shapes. Switch between shapes with the S key.
  • Guide:
  • Guides have a 5px hit area around the line for moving. The pointer changes to a resize-cursor to let you know when you are close.
  • General:
  • Tool Palette has a few more layouts. You can cycle between them with the Space key or with the layout button. Press and hold the button to switch directly to a layout.
  • Introducing a Light Mode in addition to the original Dark Mode UI. Switch between light and dark modes using Command+M
  • Tools can be launched directly from the Welcome page. Try it out :-)
  • Ready for OSX El Capitan (10.11)

New in QuickLens 1.7 Build 882 (Jul 9, 2015)

  • Lens:
  • Auto-Palette is a new way to extract colors from the screen by just selecting an area.
  • Pick the color format from a menu when you copy color to the clipboard.
  • Added ability to pick a Color Profile for sampling colors. You can use the default Native Display profile or choose sRGB, Generic RGB or Adobe RGB.
  • Lens can also be closed with the ESCAPE key.
  • Guide:
  • Guide Stamping is a new way to quickly create guides. Stamp out rough guides and do fine adjustments after creation.
  • Monocle:
  • You can now see the pixel color in the info-mode. You can also copy the color to clipboard using the 'C' key.
  • General:
  • If you prefer not to activate QuickLens when launching tools, you have the option now in Preferences.
  • You can now configure visibility of the Menubar and the Dock icons
  • The Shortcuts Viewer allows you to browse shortcuts for all tools. It will automatically switch to show shortcuts for the active tool.
  • New App Icon!
  • A 1pt increase in font size across the app. This makes text more readable in general.
  • Support for keys on the Numpad
