- A new {Expand} variable, anywhere in the footer text, captions that don’t fill the footer space are moved down. Note that {Expand} only works in cell footers.
New in Proof Sheet 1.70 (May 8, 2015)
- Adds a new {Indent} variable which indents the text by about 7% of the width on the left and right. Also, centers the block of text (not the individual lines) in the cell. Generally results in a more pleasing appearance when the text is a title or caption.

- Now sorts images by file name. This was only a problem when the source folder was a card. Hard drives were always sorted that way.

- {SplitEqual} splits the columns equally and left-justifies the right column. Note that {Split} right-justifies the right column.
- {N} substitutes a newline. (Actual newline also works, but {N} is easier to see.)
- {Folder} added for use mostly in page headers/footers. Same as {path} with {filename} (and slash) removed.
- Removed from variables menu (but still exist as variables): ApertureValue and MaxApertureValue, because values on MacOS are wrong (even in Preview app).
- EXIF variables related to shutter speed are expressed in fractions; those related to aperture have a preceding "f/" and are expressed compactly; those related to focal length have "mm" suffixed.
- Actions that cause reseting the preview go to first page past front cover page, as cover pages aren't affected by anything other that Page Setup. Much less confusing, as one tester pointed out.
- Prompts for optional registration info.
- Much improved memory usage.
- Several minor bugs and quirks fixed.
