New in Pastebot 2.0.2 (Dec 29, 2016)

  • Fixed issue where if you copied a password on 1Password iOS it could show up in your clipboard via Universal Clipboard. You'll also need an upcoming version of 1Password on iOS for this to work.
  • Pastebot can export .pastebotfilter files you can send to others. The app wasn't properly assigning them an icon and double clicking wouldn't open the file properly. That's been fixed.
  • Fixed some text color issues when using Quick Paste window dark theme.

New in Pastebot 2.0.1 (Dec 21, 2016)

  • Fixed issue where you could copy an image from Safari, put it in a custom pasteboard and then end up with a text link when you pasted it into Pages (and possibly other apps).
  • Fixed issue where you could copy an image from Safari, filter the text url, and the image was returned in the filtered output (as RTFD).
  • Fixed issue where could show main Pastebot window but clicking on the main menu wouldn't do anything until you clicked on a different app and then back to Pastebot again (only happens when you autohide the Dock icon).
  • Minor tweaking to iCloud syncing
  • Improved the focus rings on some of our custom buttons.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20027 Beta 15 (Dec 6, 2016)

  • Once 2.0 is available in the App Store the beta will notify you.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20026 Beta 14 (Dec 1, 2016)

  • iCloud syncing is enabled in this build. It will sync your clipboard, your custom pasteboards and filters. If you've installed Pastebot on multiple Macs you may end up with duplicated default filter groups/pasteboards after it syncs.
  • Made some significant changes to the way we paste into other apps.
  • Fixed issue where deleting an item that was in the sequential paste queue wouldn't remove it from the queue.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20025 Beta 13 (Nov 25, 2016)

  • Have you created any interesting filters you'd be interested in sharing? Export them and use 'Help > Email Support' to send them our way. Which filters are you using most often?
  • Better preview display for image and animated gifs that were copied from Finder. The popover preview and quick paste expanded view will show the image or animated gif for the file. The caveat: it only works for new files you copy from the Finder. If you have existing ones in custom pasteboards it will only show the file icon.
  • Word, Excel and Numbers users rejoice: we now prefer to show text instead of images when you copy text from one of these apps.
  • Fixed issue where you could create new custom pasteboard and assign a new shortcut key and it wouldn't work until you restarted app.
  • Fixed issue where the quick paste window could be displayed offscreen if you regularly plug in/remove external monitors.

  • Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed bug where main window could be showing expanded or compact state but the segmented control in the main window would show the opposite state.
  • Fixed issue migrating the app preferences where some values that weren't changed by the user could end up being zero/false (max clipping size or max number of clippings ending up at 0).
  • Removed restriction that stopped two or more users on the same machine from running Pastebot at the same time.
  • Fixed issue where you had to press return after changing the max. clipping size textfield in preferences for it to actually use the new value.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20022 Beta 10 (Nov 2, 2016)

  • What’s New:
  • Sequential copy and paste: Queue up many clippings and then paste them one by one.
  • There are two ways to use it. You can use the left/right arrow keys in main or quick paste window to add existing clippings to the paste queue. Add up to 25 clippings. Select the first one to start your sequential paste. Use the hot key for 'Sequential Paste' (default is cmd-alt-v) to paste items one by one.
  • You can also add clippings as you copy by using the global hot key for 'Start Sequential Copy' (cmd-control-c by default) and then just copying from any app to add that clipping to the queue.
  • If you were annoyed by the copy sound and disabled it in preferences you can re-enable it if you choose. The copy sound is now only used when copying into the sequential paste queue.
  • Release to Paste no longer requires you to hold down your modifier keys for a short time. If you enable that mode then it works immediately.
  • You can now auto hide the Dock app icon and the menubar icon using command line (defaults write com.tapbots.Pastebot2Mac UIVisibilityState 10).
  • Many icons throughout the app have been touched up/updated.
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed issue with not being able to disable interaction sounds after app was quit/restarted.
  • Fixed issue with not being able to increase max number of clippings that should be saved.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20021 Beta 9 (Oct 31, 2016)

  • Fixed issue where interaction sounds would play even when disabled in preferences.
  • Fixed a reported crasher when copying items to custom pasteboard in quick paste window.
  • Animated gifs are properly handled once again.
  • Adjusted the timebomb code such that you should see a 'Pastebot has timed out.' instead of the app silently quitting.
  • A build with a very cool new feature is coming soon.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20020 Beta 8 (Oct 14, 2016)

  • Interaction sounds added. You'll hear sounds when you copy, filter and when there's an error trying to filter (no last used filter, can't filter current clipboard item, etc). You can disable in Preferences.
  • Cleaned up some Quick Paste menu preferences. Now light/dark theme just matches your 'Use dark menu bar and Dock' system preference. Also removed single/multiline preference. Everything is multiline.
  • General Preferences: added ability to set the maximum number of clippings for Clipboard.
  • Fixed some issues related to quick paste window not showing in correct place if you disconnected the monitor it was last displayed on.
  • Further improvements to filtering clippings that may show up as images in Pastebot but also contain text types (Numbers, Word, Excel)
  • The Share menus across the app have been redone.
  • The Filter Chooser window was redone and also gained a search field to narrow down a longer list of filters.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20019 Beta 7 (Oct 8, 2016)

  • Fixes a hang that some users reported.
  • Reverted a change made to the preferred displayed types. Should fix the issue where Illustrator copies were showing text as well as animated gifs showing a link.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20018 Beta 6 (Oct 7, 2016)

  • A new preference has been added to enable 'Release to Paste' since too many people were accidentally triggering it.
  • Clicking on the menubar Pastebot icon would accidentally enter into 'Release to Paste' mode. It should only be possible to use when using the keyboard.
  • A notification now tells you when Pastebot will ignore your copy because it was too large (max size set in General tab in Preferences)
  • Improved setting hot keys so that using the same hot key twice is flagged.
  • The Shortcuts tab in Preferences now shows all the hot keys you've assigned to filters and clippings in custom pasteboards.
  • Added Add/Edit Title to the menu. Command-t is the shortcut to quickly add/edit title to any clipboard item.
  • Made a change to how PB decides which types should be displayed. In this version copied text from Numbers/Word/Excel, etc shows up as text instead of an image. Let us know if you see any cases where it doesn't behave as expected.
  • Changed the code that decides what is filterable. In this version you should be able to apply filters to more items than you could have previously.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20017 Beta 5 (Oct 5, 2016)

  • A version that won’t expire on September 30th. We are still working on new features that should be finished soon.

New in Pastebot 2.0 Build 20016 Beta 5 (Sep 17, 2016)

  • What’s New:
  • Create Searchable Title.
  • Assign Keyboard Shortcuts to Filters.
  • Release-to-Paste Mode. If you keep holding down the modifier keys (cmd-shift) after activating the quick paste menu, it will swap to Release-to-Paste mode which pastes the selected clipping when you release the modifier keys. You can also press the assigned letter key repeatedly to cycle through your clippings (v by default).
  • What’s Improved:
  • You can hit command-left/right arrow to quickly cycle between your Pasteboards in the Quick Paste Menu.
  • To delete a clipping in the quick paste menu, you must now hit command-delete instead of just delete.
  • Fixed the title/toolbar area when in full/split screen mode.
  • Many other bug fixes that were reported. (There are still known bugs to be fixed. Thanks for your patience.)

  • The upper/title/lowercase filter no longer strips rich text attributes.
  • There is a new preference so the quick paste window theme will match the menubar and Dock theme.
  • There is a new preference to prefer to paste plain text instead of rich text.
  • Further tweaks to the way the helper app works (responsible for starting Pastebot when you login). If it isn't working for you try going to preferences and unchecking 'Open automatically at login' and then enabling it again. Also make sure you empty the trash to get rid of old versions of Pastebot.
  • Doing a long press on the menubar icon when quick paste window visible will recenter it if you've moved it to a custom location.
