Parcel Changelog

What's new in Parcel 7.10.1

Apr 8, 2024
  • This update resolves the issue when you could see "Page not found" message when trying to re-enable Amazon integration.

New in Parcel 7.10 (Mar 6, 2024)

  • Placeholders:
  • We are introducing support for placeholder deliveries. A placeholder delivery is a template for an upcoming delivery (which does not have a tracking number yet). To add a placeholder, start adding a new delivery and type any four digits (e.g. 1234). Once you add it, you will be able to later edit it (to set a real tracking number) and change its expected delivery date in the delivery actions.
  • Improved Menu Bar App:
  • When running the app in the menu bar, its size is automatically adjusted based on the number of deliveries displayed.

New in Parcel 7.9 (Jan 18, 2024)

  • Completed migration to the new app database schema. More information on that below
  • Improved messaging when a new Amazon delivery is added manually with the Amazon integration already enabled
  • Delivery filter menu is now displayed directly in the “View” menu (instead of a submenu)
  • This updates brings a significant change to the app database schema. This is an internal change that is necessary to perform future updates and code rewrites in the app code.
  • Once you open the app, it will be empty but then it will load all of your deliveries.

New in Parcel 7.8 (Nov 26, 2023)

  • Our calendar integration has received a major update. Now you can use it with 3rd party apps and share your calendar with other people.
  • P.S. Happy Holidays! We hope you like our new Holidays-themed app icon. You can enable by clicking on Parcel in the menu bar and selecting the relevant menu item.

New in Parcel 7.7.2 (Nov 6, 2023)

  • Bug fixes and small improvements

New in Parcel 7.7.1 (Oct 10, 2023)

  • It is Halloween time! We hope you like our new Halloween-themed app icon. To change the app icon, click on "Parcel" in the menu bar and select the relevant menu item.

New in Parcel 7.7 (Sep 18, 2023)

  • Carrier Color Coding
  • I am pleased to introduce one of the most highly-requested features - color-coding of deliveries based on a carrier.
  • You can enable this feature in the "View" menu in the menu bar and after that, every delivery will have its own color for the day counter and status icon. The color is based on a carrier.
  • This update also provides support for desktop widgets in macOS Sonoma.

New in Parcel 7.6.5 (Dec 21, 2022)

  • Amazon orders that were cancelled should be now properly recognized as such and marked as delivered. This feature currently works with English, German and Italian.

  • Calendar Integration:
  • Now you can enable calendar integration in the app settings. Deliveries with expected delivery date will be added to your system calendar.

New in Parcel 7.3.1 (Jan 20, 2022)

  • The arrow buttons in the map view are now disabled when there is no next pin to select

New in Parcel 7.3 (Jan 14, 2022)

  • This update brings new map pins to the map view in the app and to the map widget. New pins have a fresh look and indicate what kind of an event took place on the map.
  • I hope that you will like them!
  • Please note that only new deliveries will get additional map pin icons (for the events like “out for delivery” and “awaiting collection”). Old deliveries that you had before installing this update will mostly show only truck icons (indicating that an item is in transit).

It also sends a time-sensitive notification when a package is delivered, unless there is a clear indication in the final delivery status that it was delivered with a signature or into the mailbox.

New in Parcel 6.4 (Jun 28, 2020)

  • Delivery Descriptions for Amazon Packages Added Using Parcel Email
  • If you are using our Parcel Email service to get Amazon deliveries added automatically to the app, you have probably noticed that they no longer have proper descriptions like they used to.
  • This is because Amazon no longer provides order descriptions in its emails.
  • With this update, if you select a delivery from Amazon that was added using Parcel Email (with an order number in its name), you will see the option to sign in to Amazon. If you sign in, all future deliveries like that will be renamed automatically on your device.
  • Please note that your credentials are not saved in the app and are not sent anywhere else. It is a safe feature from a security point of view.
  • If you have not previously used Parcel Email, here is more information about it:
