What's new in Panotour Pro 2.5.0

NEW FEATURES:
Video support:
Panotour Pro is now able to manage spherical and flat videos as standard scenes.
With this new feature come 2 new plugins "Video Control Bar" and a "Video Progress Bar", and a new button combination in standard control bars "Play/Pause" to play/pause the video.
Stereoscopic 3D video support:
This version supports stereoscopic videos scenes.
The stereoscopic form:at can be selected between Top-Bottom and Side-By-Side.
HMD support
Tours generated by Panotour Pro are compatible with HMD (Cardboards, Homido, VR One, ColorCrossVR, Oculus DK1 and DK2, GearVR*), if they contain spherical scenes. * partial support
With this feature come two new plugins, "WebVR button" that allows the user to enter VR mode on mobiles, and a "Prev/Next Keys" plugin to allow the user to change scene with keyboard while the HMD is on.
Web Content spots:
With Panotour Pro, you can now add any web page in a distorted spot in your tour, over a wall, a screen, etc... just like you already do with images and videos.
Add a booking form over a table, a youtube video on a TV screen, etc... easily.
Social buttons:
A new plugin to be able to add the Facebook, Twitter and Google+ share and like/+1 buttons over the tour.
Analytics plugin:
Add your Google Analytics tracking ID and you'll be able to follow the loading of all scenes.
Loading transition plugin:
This new plugin allows you to change the way the new loaded panorama appears over the older one.
The animations only appear with HTML5 player when WebGL is activated.
New actions:
There are many new available actions into the "view control": zoom in/out, move left/right/top/bottom, look to.
Some HTML5 plugins (Gallery, Social Share, PDF viewer, Web video viewer, Website viewer) receive the open, close and toggle actions.
Some plugins (SmallGalleryBar, Compass, Radar, Simple button, Toggle button, WebVR button) receive the show, hide and toggle actions.
Snow and Rain plugins receive the start, stop and toggle actions.
XML files generation enhanced:
If your project is already built, the tour generation generates only the XML files.
We enhanced the performance of this generation, so you'll be able to see your modifications faster on a large tour with many scenes, many plugins and/or many spots.
Improved Tiles generation:
Due to issues on mobile devices, MS Edge browser with WebGL renderer, the tiles of all full spherical panoramas are now resized to 512x512 pixels.
/!\ WARNING: If your project is already built, all full spherical panoramas tiles will be rebuilt during next build to store tiles as 512x512 pixels sets.
/!\ WARNING: If, in a previous version, you locked spherical panoramas to not generate their tiles anymore, you'll have to unlock them during first build.
Automatic scaling on mobile devices:
UI elements of the tour are automatically scaled on mobile devices.
A new option in the Build properties allows you disable this option.
UI Enhancements:
Search feature in Tour area : Just enter a part of a name to select all the panoramas or groups containing this text into their name
We have added shortcuts to the hotspot editor to enhance productivity on spotting : Ctrl+F: Fullscreen, M: Move, L: Polygon, P: Picture, S: Spot, V: Video, C: Crop, Left/Right keys: Prev/Next pano
Group windows are now resizable. They are still created by default with 2 columns of panoramas, but you can now resize them to facilitate tour management.
Scene order can be changed easier than before, and groups display reflects the order of its scenes.

Plugin instances can be duplicated
Spot style instances can be duplicated
Plugins can be re-ordered with drag-n-drop
The default view of flat scenes can be set to the whole scene more easily
All tours are now generated for desktop and mobiles. And HTML5 is the standard and default player used. So there is now only one option that allows you to enable or not the flash player fallback.
Panotour Pro interface is now available in Italian
Plugin Enhancements:
Control Bars
The home button in control bars is now able to load a specific URL.
Previous/Next buttons can call the new actions "Load previous/next groups" instead of previous/next panorama.
All control bars contain a new button that enable the activation of the VR mode.
Social Share
Social share plugin now allows you to share the tour on VK.
Video Box
Added SoundCloud as a possible provider.
Gallery, Website Box, Video Box, PDF Box, Social Share plugins
The buttons of the Gallery, Website Box, Video Box, PDF Box, Social Share plugins can be customized
Tooltips can be set over these buttons.
A background overlay image can be set behind these plugins.
Double click
Added double tap support.

Added the possibility to use the group color when displaying the current group title.

Add 45° imagery support on Google maps layer

Support of the "current group" source.
Tour:
Generated tours now use the HTML5 player by default. Flash player is now mainly used as a fallback.
Tooltips on point spots can be displayed permanently.
TOUR LANGUAGE AND GENERATED FILES:
If you run Panotour Pro in another language than english, Panotour Pro will generate a "messages" xml file suffixed by the language used in Panotour Pro.
For example if you run PTP in german, and if your main tour file is mytour.html, the messages file is now mytour_messages_de.xml.
A new advanced option in the Build properties, allow you to generate multiple languages files according to a list of languages you want to embed in your tour.
A new advanced action allows you to switch from a language to another using those new files.
Panotour Pro does not any translation, you'll have to edit the generated files to translate your tour messages. Make sure you you back these edited files up, they will be overwritten if you build the tour again.
Player:
This version of Panotour/Panotour Pro generates tours using the third pre-release of 1.19 version of krpano
LIMITATIONS:
Video scenes and Spots:
Spots are static spots. Their positions are fixed in the sphere (or in the plane for planar video scenes) for the duration of the video.
Video scenes and HMD:
To be displayed correctly on Android phones on VR mode, tours should contain only one video scene.
To play a video on a mobile, users have to interact with the device, so mixing multiple videos in a single VR tour would require touching the mobile screen while it's on the head.
Windows Phone are not able to display spherical video scenes. They will be displayed as a flat video over the tour. So hotspots on videos are not displayed too.
Spots that do not load another full spherical panorama are removed from the VR tour, except picture spots that do nothing.
Polygon spots that load a panorama are converted into your default point spot.
If your video scene file has sound, you have to set also a sound track to let this sound be played on iPhone
Web Content spots:
Those spots are available only in Panotour Pro.
They are displayed in the HTML5 player only, and they work great with the standard projection. If you change the projection of the viewer (Little Planet, Architectural, etc...) they will not exactly match the wanted area.
/!\ WARNINGS:
Tiles generation:
If your project is already built, all full spherical panoramas tiles will be built during next build to store tiles as 512x512 pixels sets.

Internet Explorer 8 support:
Google discontinued support of Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) for the Google Maps Javascript API v3 around August 31st 2015.
IE8 is no longer supported by many websites, including Google Apps and Google Analytics.
Microsoft has annouced that they will no longer support IE8 from January 2016 for desktop operating systems.
Kolor will also discontinue support of IE8 into Panotour exports progressively.
So we recommend that all users upgrade to more modern browsers.
Custom HTML templates:
Custom HTML templates have to be updated to be able to use the VR mode of tours
So if you are using some HTML templates based on those available on Panotour Pro documentation page, download their new version and update your own templates according to this new version.
Third-Party plugins:
We did a fix on the all the plugins samples available on Panotour Pro documentation website.
So if you are using some plugins samples available there, download their new version and update your own plugins according to this new version.
Panorama specific plugins:
If your projects use some panorama specific plugins, you downloaded on our documentation dedicated page (Extra plugins), then update those plugins. If you don't your tours may not work due to krpano changes in the management of variables.
For third party plugins developers:
The 1.19 version of krpano manages additions/substraction during conditional tests. This new ability induces some errors if your code contains some variables with a minus "-" or "+" sign.

Italian language:
The translation of Panotour/Panotour Pro interface in Italian is currently a work in process but you can already use it for the parts that have already been translated.
Polygonal hotspots in VR mode:
Polygonal spots are not supported in VR mode, but they are not removed as in previous version, they are converted into point spots using the default point spot style.
New VR button in all control bars:
A new button, loading the VR version of the tour, is available in the 6 control bars delivered with Panotour Pro .
Gyroscope plugin:
Touch support is added when gyroscope is activated
Video scene sound on iPhone:
A new setting is available on the video scene properties to set the video sound track.

Tour language and generated files:
If you run Panotour Pro in another language than english, Panotour Pro will generate a "messages" file suffixed by the language used in Panotour Pro.
For example if you run PTP in german, and if your main tour file is mytour.html, the messages file is now mytour_messages_de.xml.
A new advanced option in the Build properties, allow you to generate multiple languages files according to a list of languages you want to embed in your tour.
A new advanced action allows you to switch from a language to another using those new files.
Panotour Pro does not any translation, you'll have to edit the generated files to translate your tour messages.
Desktop/Mobiles Flash/HTML5 build options simplified:
All tours are now generated for desktop and mobiles. And HTML5 is the standard and default player used. So there is now only one option that allows you to enable or not the flash player fallback.
VR settings:
As new version of krpano player introduces 2 new parameters in the VR settings, you'll probably have to reset the settings you set in the tour generated with Panotour Pro 2.5 beta 1.

We added some internal templates that ease the creation of HTML templates.
But all your previous custom HTML templates have to be upgraded using new internal templates.
Simply have a look at the templates delivered with Panotour Pro to know the changes you need to do in your custom templates.
Gyroscope and Gyroscope buttons in control bars:
We added the possibility to enable/disable the gyroscope feature based on the kind of device on which the tour is displayed.
Additionally, the button that enables/disables the gyroscope on mobiles and tablets, did the opposite of what it should have done.
This bug was not noticeable until we did some changes in the gyroscope management templates.
So we changed all the control-bars delivered with Panotour/Panotour Pro to fix their Gyro buttons.
If you are using custom control bars and if these bars use a Gyro button based on ours you'll have to change the code of this button.

HTML templates enhancements
We added some internal templates that ease the creation of HTML templates.
But all your previous custom HTML templates have to be upgraded using new internal templates.
Simply have a look at the templates delivered with Panotour Pro to know the changes you need to do in your custom templates.
Note to 2.3 Beta 1 users: As some of you reported some issues with the templates included in the HTML template, we splitted them into different templates. So, if you modified your HTML templates with 2.3 Beta 1 version, you’ll have to modify them once more.
Gyroscope and Gyroscope buttons in control bars
We added the possibility to enable/disable the gyroscope feature based on the kind of device on which the tour is displayed.
Additionally, the button that enables/disables the gyroscope on mobiles and tablets, did the opposite of what it should have done.
This bug was not noticeable until we did some changes in the gyroscope management templates.
So we changed all the control-bars delivered with Panotour/Panotour Pro to fix their Gyro buttons.
If you are using custom control bars and if these bars use a Gyro button based on ours you’ll have to change the code of this button.

Tour File system management:
During the process of a tour creation you may build your tour many times, with different parameters, different panoramas, etc…
The directory in which you build your tour may contains extra files that are not needed by the last built tour.
A file manager window describing which files are mandatory and which files seem to be useless can be opened using the last icon of the toolbar.
The “red” files are the files that the tour built by Panotour may not need.
You can delete those files by checking them, and click on the “Delete selected files” button.
If you did not copied any file into the tour data directory, all the red files should be deleted.
If you copied some files into this directory, and if those files are needed by the tour, be sure to uncheck them if you click on the “Selection/Not needed files” button.
Replace panorama file:
A new entry is available in the contextual menu of a panorama.
Select a single panorama in the “Tour” area, and right click to see this new entry : “Replace panorama file”.
This entry allows you to replace the image(s) file(s) of the panorama.
The new image should have the same aspect ratio as the original image.
If you set some spots in the original image, the new image should also have the same heading to be sure that the spots fit the new panorama.
But they can have a different size. So you can for example have a low res version of a gigapixel panorama during your tour creation process, and when you are ready, change the panorama file with the gigapixel one.
This feature also allows you to prepare a big tour before the panoramas are even shot.

Main new feature:
Google Maps in your virtual tours:
Place the different views of your virtual tour on an embedded Google Map. If your panoramas include GPS data, they will be automatically placed on the map. If they don't contain GPS data, you can spot their location easily by typing the location name like on Google Maps website or by filling in their GPS coordinates. What's more, you can add a radar on the map and even customize the map's hotspots with a proper icon or image. Full customization of this plugin is possible through XML editing.

New light skin:
You can now choose between the default dark skin and a new light skin for the application, in the application preferences.   Automatic rearrangement
No more superimposed panoramas in the main window: the images are added next to each other. Type Shift+R to automatically rearrange the panoramas. Type Ctrl+0 to see all panos and Ctrl+A to select them all and modify their properties at once.

Thumbnail stacks:
If your tour includes several views, you can add a stack of thumbnails to enhance the navigation experience: the visitor clicks on the stack to expand it (vertically or horizontally) and clicks on a thumbnail to access another view. The thumbnails are automatically generated and you can choose their size and other parameters like the border color and thickness. You can also choose the display order of the thumbnails.
New graphic theme:
There are now 4 standard themes available. The new one is simple and can be applied on nearly all tours. It is based on the KrPano default theme.
Multiple logos in a tour
Add your logo and the logos of your partners or clients with the new multiple logos feature: you can add a logo in each corner and one on the nadir.
Improved thumbnail sidebar
New parameters for the thumbnails allow more customization: border color and size, tooltip display. The thumbnail sidebar is now scrollable.
Improved autorotation:
Panotour Pro lets you adjust the autorotation for each panorama: set the direction, the speed and the delay before the autorotation should start.
Improved maps:
You can now add a radar on your custom map. Plus, the placement and size of open and closed maps are now independent: you can set the size of the closed map and choose its position no matter the position of the open map.
Change the projection on the fly:
If you enable the choice of projection modes in the contextual menu, the visitor can make a right click on the virtual tour to access all available projections and switch them on the fly. Projection modes include: normal, fisheye, architectural, stereographic, pannini, little planet.

New Thumbnails plugin: Thumbnails stack:
Thumbnails can now be displayed as a stack in a corner of the tour. The user can click on a stack to expand it vertically or horizontally and click on a thumbnail to open a chosen panorama.
Add a template for hotspots tooltips:
If you set %p as a tooltip on a hotspot linked to a panorama, the tooltip of the spot will show the name of the targeted panorama.
View projections:
You can add some entries in the contextual menu to change the projection used to display the current panorama.
New theme:
There are now 4 default themes available. The new one is similar to the KrPano theme.
Easy placement of panoramas in the main area:
Add a new panorama to a project and it will be placed next to the other panoramas. There are no more superimposed panoramas. If you type “Shift R” on your keyboard, the panoramas will be reorganized.
The following tips already existed in the previous versions, but they were not well known: If you type “Ctrl 0″ the zoom will be adapted to fit all the panoramas. If you type “Ctrl A”, all the panoramas are selected so you can modify their properties at once. As in all standards software applications, you can also hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on the hotspots or panoramas to add other items to the selection.
Reducing distortions:
A new “reduce distortion” button in the “Panorama Properties/Images” tab computes the best dimensions to avoid distortions in the tour.
Google Maps inside:
A new Maps plugin, Panotour Maps, is available in the “Extra” tab. If you use this plugin, your panoramas containing GPS data will be automatically localized on a map. The panorama can be localized easily either by searching a location like on the Google Maps website or by entering the latitude/longitude.
Radar: the panorama’s orientation is displayed as a radar in Panotour Pro. Just hold down the Ctrl key while a spot is selected on the map and an arrow showing the orientation will appear.
Each hotspot displayed through the Panotour Maps plugin can be customized with its proper icon or image.
A full customization of the plugin is available through XML editing. A documentation of the plugin features and their XML syntax will be available soon.
Direct export of the tour through FTP:
Build and export your tour from Panotour Pro directly to your FTP server.
Directional sounds without clicking on a spot:
It is now possible to set a sound as “display object” on a spot. It will add a directional sound on a panorama that will be played as soon as the panorama is loaded.
Autorotation settings on each panorama:
In Panotour Pro, the autorotation can be set differently for each panorama. These settings are: the rotation’s direction the rotation’s speed the delay before the rotation starts.
Sounds available on iPad / iPhone:
If you add a sound over a whole tour or over a single panorama, it will be played on iPad® / iPhone®. Only directional sounds are not supported on these platforms.
iPad 2 / iPhone® 4 gyroscope support:
Allow the users to explore your tour by moving their tablet, only by enabling the Gyroscope plugin for iPad2 / iPhone4
Ability to set the size of a closed map:
We added a new way to set the size of the Maps plugin. The closed map can be sized and placed independantly of the opened map.
Call a JavaScript function through a click on a hotspot:
A new field is available in the hotspot properties tab which allows to call JavaScript functions from the HTML page where the tour is embedded. Fill the JavaScript call in the field and when the user clicks on the spot, the JS script will be called.
Import of orthoptic panoramas:
A new entry is available in the “File/Import” submenu that allows the import of orthoptic images (360° mirror images) in the project.
