  • Editor Improvements and Bug Fixes:
  • [BIG] Text Editor now supports line and paragraph spacing. This is currently applied to built-in font styles and when you paste content from other apps.
  • [BIG] Reworked logic of containers sizing depending on child content. That fixed some nasty bugs (like images overflowing container size in some cases) and added new functionality - table column width is determined automatically unless you explicitly set it.
  • Improved page loading speed
  • Mouse Selection from left to right worked incorrectly sometimes
  • Internal copy paste of content from one-column table added borders

  • Major changes in handling of text styles. Paragraph Style now can be applied in two ways: 1) if there is cursor in the target paragraph, then paragraph style is applied, but existing text runs formatting is being kept. So, resulting text style will be combination of paragraph style and text run style applied above it. 2) When there is selection, paragraph style discards text run formatting.

  • Editor Improvements:
  • Improved accuracy of the cursor positioning in text when you move up/down.
  • Cursor sticks to a line beginning/end when moving up/down in text, if it has been set using mouse or home/end key.
  • LOT of improvements in selection from keyboard logic (shift + arrows). Lots of bugs has been fixed and logic has been reworked.
  • Selection makes a stop in the beginning and the end of outline/table cell.
  • Move up/down after selection should position cursor at the x coordinates of active selection edge.
  • It is possible now to discard selection by Esc key.
  • Cell content selection state is restored after discarding cell selection with Esc (usefull when you accidentally selected whole cell with shift+down).

  • What's Publish:
  • Respecting the boundaries of personal has always been a key thing in Outline. Specifically, that's the reason we made it possible to store notes in a private WebDAV cloud, locally, or even encrypted. But some notes are born to be shown to other people, for collaboration, communication, and fun.
  • Now you can Publish your notes! In Outline for iOS, give a double-tap to a page to proceed for creating a public link. Once created, the link can be shared with people any way you like best. A published note did its' job and now needs to be removed from public access? Revoke it in the same double-tap menu.
  • What's Improved:
  • Import documents, files, and web pages into Outline as PDF, attachments, or printouts. Just Command+P on a thing you want PDFed into Outline and choose 'Send to Outline' in the Services dropdown to the left.

New in Outline 3.14.2 (Dec 20, 2016)

  • "Import like a boss" - This update features an interface for import from Circus Ponies, eventually! No more playing with Terminal or copy-pasting magic commands from a PDF. Choose where to pick the exported notebooks and where to place them, in a friendly window. Coming up next: proper import of nested lists.
  • Also, there are several improvements in sync and overall stability. No more restriction on capitalizing the first symbols in a line (still available to be enabled in Settings)!

  • "Outline goes Global" - Starting from this update, we are adding translations of Outline's interface into national languages. Going global! The first ones arriving are German and Chinese.
