  • This version is targeted for Mac OS X 10.7 and newer, update only if you are using Mac OS X 10.7 and newer! This version will not work on earlier versions of Mac OS X than 10.7! If you have not upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7, now is the time :-)
  • Added better support for Mac OS X 10.7.
  • Made some minor changes to the user interface to better support Mac OS X 10.7 and newer.
  • Fixed some design defects for how the eclipse dimming behaves under some circumstances (Application start, Mouse-in, Mouse-out, Screen saver, Lock screen, User login).
  • Fixed a bug where the Hotkey was not registered under some circumstances, and therefor did not work until it was set again.
  • Fixed a bug where settings were incompatible between 32-bit and 64-bit mode (default is 32-bit mode to lower memory footprint).

New in Menu Eclipse 2.4 (Nov 18, 2011)

New in Menu Eclipse 2.0.0 (Feb 7, 2011)

  • [NEW]
  • Menu Eclipse 2 has a new fresh look. Evolution!
  • Check and download software updates.
  • Change color of the eclipse.
  • Fade in & out the eclipse on dim & un-dim with different speeds.
  • Change the menu bar icon.
  • Scrubb the menu bar (LCD Scrubbing/Conditioning).
  • Added a slider control to change the eclipse amount, in the menu bar icon menu.
  • Added the slo-mo effect when the Menu Eclipse window appears & disappears (i.e. Mac OS X slow motion effect).
  • Version 1.x is free, beginning with version 2.0.0 - please purchase a license and register.
  • Fixed minor defects in various behaviours of the application.
  • The Menu Eclipse window now appears below the menu bar, the window does not cover the menu bar anymore when its visible.
  • Removed the annoying message in the menu bar "Please purchase a license and register!", now showing a dialog instead. This will more effectively allow an evaluation of Menu Eclipse 2.
  • Runs in 32-bit mode by default. Because Menu Eclipse 2 uses & requires almost no CPU, and 64-bit mode applications use more memory.
  • To allow only a single instance of Menu Eclipse 2 to run at a time has been revoked, you may now run parallel instances and with other logged-in users.
  • Due to optimizations in the applications architecture regarding 32-bit & 64-bit, you will have to set your preferences and re-enter your license registration code again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • Made it easier to register.
  • Added a tutorial on how to enter your license registration code & register (in the License tab).
  • Added a tutorial on how to match the eclipse color with the color of your desktop (image distributed with the Menu Eclipse 2 application).
