  • Product and Payroll Enhancements & Issues That Have Been Resolved
  • Pennsylvania Municipal Local Tax - a new local tax rate has been added for 3.6%.
  • AccountEdge Connect and the Customer Portal will display, with full detail, Web Pay Sales originally created in AccountEdge Pro. You can watch this video to learn more.
  • When consolidated tax codes were used on a sale and a partial payment was applied to that sale, the Sales Tax (Cash) reports' totals on the bottom of the report were incorrect.
  • The Pay Liabilities window's performance has been improved. This window was taking a long time to load.
  • We've improved the handling of sync errors with AccountEdge Connect which could result in an unintended Unlink of your account or duplicate transactions created during the next sync.
  • AccountEdge will now sync with Shopify using weights of measure that matches the set-up of the Shopify store.
  • Orders created in AccountEdge Pro can now have a payment applied against them in AccountEdge Connect.
  • Addressed an issue linking and unlinking your Shopify account.
  • When working in Spend Trust/Escrow/Retainer, it was possible to mistakenly create a new customer card with the same customer name.
  • Addressed a potential crash when closing the application while working with retainers.
  • Several other minor issues have been addressed.

  • Product Enhancements & Issues That Have Been Resolved:
  • The Balance Sheet would not display the date correctly if the report was customized.
  • If using the preference to Show Vendor Invoice Number in Pay Bills, there was a scenario that could cause a crash.
  • If you were creating a report for a 13th Period, no data was displayed unless you enabled the setting to include accounts with zero balances.
  • Using Combine Card was not removing the customer or changing the invoices to reference remaining customer in AccountEdge Connect.
  • Previously when performing an initial sync with AccountEdge Connect or a Force Sync, the software would send up all closed Receivables. The software will now only send up closed A/R and A/P for the current fiscal year to speed up sync times.
  • AccountEdge Connect Sync has been adjusted to not send up un-needed data which should make syncing perform faster and more efficient.
  • Receive Money transactions created in AccountEdge Connect but later edited in AccountEdge Pro was not kept in sync.
  • Addressed an issue that could have caused an invoice balance in AccountEdge Connect to not equal the matching receivable balance for that invoice.
  • Jobs were not being displayed on synced sales in AccountEdge Connect.
  • Several other minor issues around syncing have also been addressed.

  • Indiana - Several county withholding rate changes.

  • Product Enhancements & Issues That Have Been Resolved:
  • Oregon Transit Tax to be included in W-2 Box 14.
  • When a sync with AccountEdge Connect is interrupted, transactions that have not been received into your company file will remain in AccountEdge Connect as 'unsynced'. During the next sync, those transactions will be imported.
  • During a sync, if you receive an import error on a specific transaction, you can now edit the transaction in AccountEdge Connect to resolve the issue or elect to delete the transaction.
  • AccountEdge will better handle situations where a duplicate transaction could have occurred if there were previously errors or sync interruptions (internet dropped, etc).
  • Several other minor issues have also been addressed

  • Payroll Tax Changes:
  • Illinois - Newly updated withholding tables to reflect an increase in the personal exemption amount.
  • Louisiana - A new withholding forumula was made available by the state.
  • Maryland - Updated withholding tables and formulas to account for the increase in the state's standard deduction maximum base amount to $2250.
  • New Jersey - updated withholding tables with new wage brackets
  • Product Fixes and Enhancements:
  • Addressed an issue importing bank statements where the import and matching was taking too long to complete.
  • When synching with Shopify, if a customer name didn't match due to cases (upper case/lower case) a duplicate customer record was created.
  • Fixed an issue when an item has variations (eg. sizes and colors) and auto-build was also being used, if you made a change to the master item sometimes the auto-build information was removed.
  • When emailing with Outlook, when a line in the body of an email wrapped to the next line, a carriage return was being added to the email when sent.
  • When multiple locations was set up in Shopify, under some circumstances, the inventory count from AccountEdge was not being synced to items in Shopify.
  • Addressed an issue when syncing Spend or Receive Money transactions with AccountEdge Connect resulted in an error when the transactions included lines for $0.

  • PAYROLL TAX CHANGES:
  • For those customers enrolled in Payroll Tax Service, this update includes the following state(s) payroll changes:
  • Philadelphia - Employers in Philadelphia are to implement reduced withholding of its wage tax from workers in the city starting July 1, 2018 with new rates for residents and non-residents who work in the city.
  • Federal Supplemental Wage rate was reduced from 25% to 22%.
  • PRODUCT FIXES AND ENHANCEMENTS:
  • If you create items with variations within Shopify and sync them down to AccountEdge, a sync error might have occurred depending on the items setup.
  • Addressed an verification error having to do with Quotes with Kits and Jobs.
  • Recurring Sales that included a kit may have been priced incorrectly.
  • If using a 13th Period in your fiscal year, transactions in that period were not showing on some reports and screens.
  • Fixed a couple of crashes that could occur when using the space bar on some filters in reports.

New in AccountEdge Pro v18 Build 22.0.9 (Jun 1, 2018)

  • For those customers enrolled in Payroll Tax Service, this update includes the following state(s) payroll changes:
  • Idaho - New updated withholding tables and rates to reflect the new Child Tax Credit has been implemented with a new Allowance of $2,960. The Idaho State Tax Commission strongly recommends all employees update their W-4s.
  • Kentucky - KY has removed the graduated tax rate and is going to a flat tax rate of 5% for all wages.
  • Oregon - A new Oregon Transit Tax has been introduced and will be added to each employee with a residence code of Oregon or work in Oregon.
  • Utah - UT has changed from a flat 5% tax to a tables with new rates for Single and Married. An Allowance is set at $4050.
  • Product Fixes and Enhancements:
  • Adjusted the sync with AccountEdge Connect for slower connections or computers where large amounts of data is being synced and timeouts may have occurred.
  • SHOPIFY USERS - Shopify has changed the way it stores and syncs inventory quantities. All users will need to use this version of AccountEdge to sync with Shopify by July 1st.
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn't select a department in Advanced Filters on the Find Transaction window.
  • Solved a problem with applying a credit at the same time as creating an invoice could cause the customer balance to not be correct.
  • When the setting for including both items and time billing activities on invoices was enabled and using Select Item by Name, you were unable to choose an item.
  • Addressed an issue with applying credits to orders and converting to an invoice where the credit is not cleared.
  • There was an issue where if reports were password protected all of the report tabs were blank and the cancel button wouldn't operate.
  • If a Kit report was saved as a custom report, it would not display in the Custom tab in the Index to Reports.
  • Fixed a rare crash when creating a header account in the chart of accounts.
  • When exporting journal entries, categories were not being included.
  • Fixed display issues with the Vendor Purchase Detail and Item Purchase Detail reports.
  • When emailing from the sales window, if choose another email address besides Billing Address #1, and enter a new email and choose to update the card, it would update Address 1.
  • When creating an order with a payment and reversing the payment before converting the order to an invoice/purchase, when the order is converted, the Card's AR/AP balance was incorrect.

  • This update addresses a single issue having to do with processing credit cards. It also contains the previously released 2018 Federal Payroll Changes and Withholding Tables from r22.0.4. Please install on all Macs running AccountEdge Pro.
  • Product Changes:
  • Addresses an issue with processing credit cards where you couldn't store payment details for future transactions.

New in AccountEdge Pro v18 Build 22.0.4 (Feb 1, 2018)

  • Payroll Tax Changes:
  • For those customers enrolled in Payroll Tax Service, this update includes Federal changes for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and State changes for Mississippi and Oregon. Be sure to Load Payroll Tax Tables from the Setup Menu.
  • Federal - All new 2018 withholding tables and new rates for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
  • Federal - Annual withholding allowance for 2018 has changed to $4,150.
  • Mississippi - Updated withholding tables including a new bracket.
  • Oregon - New withholding tables, changes to standard deductions, Federal tax phase out is set as $6650 and allowances are now $201.
  • Product Changes:
  • If a company file is set as unchangeable, in some instances you cannot reverse an adjust inventory transaction.
  • Addressed an issue that could cause a scenario where you would have zero quantity of an item in inventory but still have an inventory dollar value for that item.
  • An issue was fixed where you couldn't receive inventory or adjust inventory when a negative sale was present for that item.
  • Fixed a problem where the application would quit when the user would enter a price without a quantity being entered.
  • When in Jobs/Transactions tab, the totals at the bottom of the scroll area are not updated between the Summary and Detail views or when filters are used and items listed in the scroll area change.
  • After recording a sale with more than one Kit, the first kit does not have the cost of sales in the kit history post.
  • When printing the Jobs List Detail report from the Job Information window, the Linked Customer was not printing.
  • Fixed several issues where an incorrect COGS amount was used when editing, deleting or reversing inventory transactions under certain circumstances.

  • January 2, 2018 Payroll Update:
  • The IRS is expected to deliver official federal withholding tables sometime in January requiring employers to begin rolling them out in early February. Be sure you are on a valid payroll tax plan in order to receive this and future payroll updates.
  • Payroll Tax Changes:
  • For those customers enrolled in Payroll Tax Service, this update includes payroll changes for California, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington.
  • Changes:
  • CA DI withholding rate has increased from .9% to 1%. The taxable wage limit is $114,967 with a maximum of $1,149.67 to be withheld.
  • IN has twelve counties that have income tax rate changes for 2018.
  • NY SUI wage base changed from $10,900 to $11,100.

  • Addresses several issues introduced with Mac OS X 10.13 High Sierra.
  • The Category Trial Balance Report was doubling foreign currency amounts under certain circumstances.
  • When in the Stock Alert report, the drill down on the items does not bring you to the To Do List/Stock Alert as it did in the past.
  • When syncing an item with Shopify that has a linked graphic in AccountEdge, but the image does not exist in the graphics folder, the app would crash.

  • Payroll and Product Changes:
  • Idaho - Updated Single and Married withholding tables have been added.
  • Maine - Withholding tables have changed due to the repeal of the 3 percent surtax on high-income earners.
  • Fixed an issue with the new optional YTD Accural field for pay stubs where the column would be empty if the pay date is the last day of the month.
  • The Payroll Earnings report was not calculating the YTD column correctly.

New in AccountEdge Pro v17 Build 21.0.9 (Jul 27, 2017)

  • Enhancements & Issues That Have Been Resolved:
  • Illinois - An increased withholding rate of 4.95% has been passed by IL with an effective as of July 1st 2017.
  • When using a consolidated tax code, if you change the layout of the sale or purchase from Service to Miscellaneous, or vice versa, the tax doubles.
  • A new optional YTD Accural field/column is now available to be added to pay checks and stubs. This can be used to display accrued paid sick time, etc.
  • When processing a credit card that fails an AVS Zip Code check, the results will be color coded to to help alert you if an AVS check has failed. The error message associated with the failure will display more information and is stored so it can be recalled at a later time.
  • If a payment being processed has been declined, further information will be displayed to help identify the reason which is also stored to be recalled at a later time.
  • Fixed an issue when syncing a Receive Money transaction from AccountEdge Connect. When a preference in AccountEdge Connect was set to have AccountEdge assign the transaction ID during sync a warning was being issued about a missing transaction ID number.

  • Payroll Tax Changes:
  • For those customers enrolled in a Payroll Tax Service plan, this update also provides access to the July 2nd 2017 payroll tax table which includes State and Local payroll tax changes. Please see the list of payroll changes below.
  • Kansas - Increased income tax rates effective July 1st and retroactive to January 1st 2017. The tax table introduces a 3rd tax bracket.
  • Arizona -The Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act is effective July 1st. The Accrual Balance Detail & Summary reports now include an option to print each employee on a separate page and contains hours accrued, taken and available. This should be provided to employees for each pay run. A future product update we will include custom fields that can be added to pay checks and pay stubs to display these balances.
  • Enhancements & Issues That Have Been Resolved:
  • The Payroll Accrual Balance Detail and Summary reports now contains an option to print each employee on a separate page.
  • Fixed an issue when printing from the Shipping Manager to a Zebra printer reset your default printer setting.

  • PAYROLL TAX CHANGES:
  • For those customers enrolled in a Payroll Tax Service plan, this update also provides access to the July 1st 2017 payroll tax table which includes State and Local payroll tax changes.
  • Please see the list of payroll changes below:
  • Illinois - a correction in the exemption from $2,150 to $2,175 has been made.
  • Indiana - Tax categories have been changed to include the county names vs just the rate. This relieves employers of the task of keeping up-to-date on county rate changes when they change. Instead, employers should make a one time change for each employee to the correct county tax category by January 1st 2018. Once changed, the rates for the county will be updated via payroll updates vs having to manually change these yourself.
  • New York City - There has been a revised withholding tax computation for NYC employees earning $500,000 or less per year. Effective July 1, 2017.
  • PA Philadelphia - Resident and Non-Resident tax rates have been reduced. The residents rate has been decreased from 3.9004% to 3.8907%. The non-residents rate from 3.4741% to 3.4654%.
  • NOTE REGARDING NY FAMILY LEAVE:
  • New York has passed a Family Leave program. You may need to create a new employee deduction by Jan 1, 2018. You can learn more about the New York Family Leave Plan on the NY State site.
  • ENHANCEMENTS & ISSUES:
  • Item quantities not updating in Shopify.
  • When viewing a transaction from the notification window, the application would crash.
  • Analyze Invnentory not showing or ommitting Committed or other quanities.
  • When purging transactions if you selected a record to purge, a white box would display instead of a checkmark.
  • Certain price breaks were not exporting when using the export items function.
  • When Preparing a Time Biling Invoice, if sorting by job, the invoice created would not be created with the same sort order.
  • Analyze Cash Flow was displaying quotes and orders.
  • Exporting contact cards was missing address lines for Address 3.
  • Provides support for the new Dropbox v2 API which will be required for using Dropbox with AccountEdge.

  • Enhancements & Issues That Have Been Resolved:
  • AccountEdge will now sync Receive Money transactions from AccountEdge Connect.
  • When starting a new fiscal year and if your company file contains Progress Billing Quotes the software may hang.
  • When a receive/spend money transaction created in AccountEdge Connect is edited in AccountEdge the program would unexpectedly quit.
  • The Balance Due field that can be added to a Sales/Purchase email shows the Total Amount even if you have a payment applied.
  • We were not displaying the correct Note field in reports displaying Cash Disbursements or Cash Receipts.
  • The Create a Shipment window now contains a drill down arrow to take you to the customers contact card.
  • Purchase payment notes created in Purchase Payment Details are removed from the purchase payment if the payment is edited in Pay Bills.
  • Fixed an interface issue around detaching of attachments to transactions.

  • Indiana - State tax rate has been reduced to 3.23%
  • Ohio Local - a new local tax rate of 1.12% has been added.
  • PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS & ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN RESOLVED:
  • Addressed an issue with the Job Activity Detail report which would sometime display purchase amounts including tax and other times excluding tax.
  • Fixed a problem where you were not able to copy and paste fields on custom forms.
  • When using Auto-build sometimes the Qty To Build amounts could not be changed or showed incorrect amounts to build.
  • The Vendor Tax ID# was not being merged in an email template using that field.
  • When emailing from the Shipping Manager if more than one email address was used some users reported not being able to send the invoice or sending out incorrect invoice numbers.
  • We addressed an issue where an email sent regarding a UPS shipment may send an incorrect invoice number.
  • Addressed an issue where you could create a UPS shipment without the Ship Via field being populated.
  • The UPS Shipping Manager will now remember some details of your last shipment to make it easier to complete your next shipment. (eg. method, package type, etc.) This will be remembered until you close your company file.
  • We fixed a problem on TimeSheets with Departments enabled where certain fields would move off screen as you tab through a timesheet.
  • AccountEdge would sometimes quit due when attempting to send an email from the Shipping Manager.
  • When printing or emailing a sale or purchase that has not yet been recorded the message asking about Outstanding Credits/Debits was not displayed.
  • If applying a credit to an invoice and at the same time using Paid Today to pay the balance with a credit card, the amount being charged to the credit card is the full amount, not the amount less the credit.
  • If you applied a credit to an invoice and using Paid Today, the paid today portion was recorded as a voided receipt transaction.

  • A Check Number field has been added to the Receive Retainers window when the payment method of Check is selected.
  • Under certain circumstances a change to your report formatting would not save.
  • Fixed a problem where reports would not display reports correctly that were previously customized with different formatting.
  • When in a Time Billing Quote or Progress Billing Quote, with an expanded window, a large description is cut off.
  • Depending on your preference settings, it was possible to create a duplicate transaction ID when creating a quote.
  • Addressed an issue where you could create a UPS shipment without the Ship Via field being populated.
  • Fixed a problem where some users were not able to Re-Register their UPS account.
  • When emailing UPS shipment information to a customer, sometimes the wrong invoice information was included in the email.
  • When editing an amount in the cashflow worksheet/analyze cash needs, the new amount is not retained when you move back to the cash flow worksheet.
  • Fixed an issue where under certain circumstances you would not be notified of a new payroll tax table being available to load.
  • Addressed a possible issue where emailing from the Shipping Manager could cause the app to crash.

  • Vertical lines separating columns have been added to the sales & purchases windows as well as Departments, Adjust Inventory, Auto-Build, Item Information, Set Item Prices, Build Items, Jobs List and Timesheets.
  • The performance of displaying and choosing a Job while on transactions has been improved especially for those with many Jobs.
  • Customized forms from previous versions had issues with margins where forms would print down and to the right.
  • Creating an invoice from a purchase reverted the description to the default.
  • The Timesheet window columns will now grow as you expand the window.
  • When changing a customer on a sale, any description would revert back to the default.

  • Added the ability to choose the Receipt type (Refund, Payments, Receive Money) when going to print receipts.
  • Addressed an issue where the Inventory Count Sheet window might hang and the report was taking a long time to build.
  • Fixed an issue where Salespeople were not showing up in the Salesperson list on sales, etc. If this continues, run Verify File from the File menu to fix the problem.
  • Categories were not being exported when exporting certain transaction types.
  • Addressed issues importing transactions that had notes attached.
  • When attempting to email from the Review Shipments Before Emailing, receive An error occurred sending email.
  • Maximizing the Jobs List window would cause the application to crash on the Mac.
  • Fixed issues where if you needed to re-register AccountEdge with UPS the application may crash.
  • Certain filters were not working properly when choosing who to email.
  • Added a fix for those customers not being able to upgrade their company file. This occurred for those who were using electronic payments.

  • Addressed an issue using Cmd H to hide an application resulted in AccountEdge being in a state where you could not restore the application making it appear that AccountEdge had crashed.
  • Using Cmd X or Edit/Cut to cut the selected text would result in it appearing that all text from the field was cut.
  • When using Paid Today from a sale depending on your linked account settings the receive payment transaction created was not posted to the account selected.
  • When using Paid Today and going to Details, if you only changed the Payment ID, the ID was not being saved.
