New in MP3 Trimmer 2.9.5 (Jan 25, 2010)

  • The 2.9.4 release suffered from two minor errors, none of them critical.
  • First of all, the built-in User Guide was not enclosed in the download package. This release contains the built-in User Guide as it should.
  • Secondly, the version number on the application was wrong. It showed up as 2.9.2 in the Finder info. However, inside the application it properly showed 2.9.4. Indeed a non-critical bug, but it's corrected now.

New in MP3 Trimmer 2.9.4 (Jan 25, 2010)

  • Addresses the Auto-Trim Editor, one of MP3 Trimmer's more powerful built-in tools. When editing large MP3 files, say a radio-recording, this tool is very useful.
  • Please consult the built-in reference in the Help-menu to learn more about the Auto-Trim Editor.
  • The broken generic cue-file support was fixed.
  • The cue-file format is a standard often used to provide track information with long music mixes.

New in MP3 Trimmer 2.8.8 (Jan 1, 2009)

  • Add Audio Silence! In an MP3 file, silence isn't just zeroes. The silent part must be encoded in exactly the same way as the rest of the file. Now you can add any length of complete silence at the beginning or end of your MP3 file - even when batch processing numerous files, or using the Auto-Trim feature!
  • QT-import - The import parser now performs a thorough scan inside QuickTime mov-containers for valid MP3 data. In short, this means if you edit MP3 files (with cut, copy & paste) inside the QuickTime player * - and save it as a QuickTime movie file (.mov) - you can import the .mov into MP3 Trimmer and re-save it as a 100% valid MP3.
  • Batch processing further improved and more accurate now. The batch analysis routine is better to identify files that need repair. In addition, the Auto-create filename feature is more reliable now. The Batch repair feature will also try harder to maintain valid ID3 tag data during repair.
  • Sort out good / bad files – New option in Batch processing mode; When performing 'Analysis only' you can choose to collect either all good files (that don't need repair) or all broken files (that need repair) in a specified destination folder. Time-saving when you wish to quickly sort out files based on their condition.
  • A long time suggestion was implemented; upon completion of various tasks - if Trimmer is in the background - it will bounce the dock icon for attention.
  • Smarter file renaming in Batch mode. If a duplicate file was found when attempting to save or copy during batch processing, MP3 Trimmer will simply add incremental numbering to the filenames and save the files whithout reporting any errors.
  • Even more handsome – Finally, MP3 Trimmer got a new icon and a slightly redesigned main window interface.
