Little Snitch Mini Changelog

What's new in Little Snitch Mini 1.6

Mar 21, 2024
  • Little Snitch Mini now displays information from an application’s Internet Access Policy (IAP), which can be provided by app developers to describe which Internet connections their programs are about to establish and for what purpose.
  • If such information is available, an IAP icon is shown next to the app and its connections. Clicking that icon will then reveal more details about the purpose of this particular connection.
  • Learn more about the Internet Access Policy at obdev.at/iap

New in Little Snitch Mini 1.5 (Oct 23, 2023)

  • The “Recently Blocked” item shown in the status menu in the menu bar now displays a red badge with the number of recently blocked connections.
  • Fixed a layout bug in the toolbar of the connection list window.
  • This version also addresses an issue that could cause the Premium subscription status to get lost temporarily — typically when starting the app immediately (or automatically) after restarting the computer. If you were affected by this bug, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

New in Little Snitch Mini 1.4.1 (Sep 13, 2023)

  • Improved compatibility with the latest version of macOS.
  • Added action menu for “All Blocklists” to conveniently update, disable or enable all blocklists in one go.
  • Fixed a possible crash that sometimes occurred in the course of updating the order of connections shown in the connection list.

New in Little Snitch Mini 1.4 (Aug 8, 2023)

  • Added an option to show live data rates of incoming and outgoing traffic as numerical values in the menu bar. The desired appearance of the status icon can be chosen in Settings > General.
  • The traffic chart in the status menu now includes labels showing the total amount of sent and received data within the displayed time interval of five minutes.
  • The time interval shown in the traffic chart thumbnails in the connection list has been increased from 3.5 minutes to five minutes to match the time interval shown in the status menu.
  • Improved error handling when communicating with the App Store for querying the current purchase status.

New in Little Snitch Mini 1.3 (Jul 6, 2023)

  • Get a closer look at your blocklists with blocklist statistics!
  • In the blocklist section there’s now a counter displayed next to each blocklist entry, indicating how often that entry has already been effective.
  • And a new filter option in the search field allows you to see only those entries that have been effective at least once. The filtered view is sorted by frequency. So you can easily find the most often used entries at the top of the list.

New in Little Snitch Mini 1.2.1 (May 8, 2023)

  • Improved “Keep Window in Front” option – which was already added in version 1.2 but forgotten to be mentioned in “What’s New”. Oops! This new feature allows you to keep the Little Snitch Mini window in front of all other windows (including windows from other apps), making it easier to watch your computer’s network connections while working in other apps.
  • This option can be turned on from the menu bar (Window > Keep Window in Front) or by typing the Command-J keyboard shortcut.
  • Other Improvements:
  • Improved handling of expired subscriptions. If the app claims that the subscription has expired, but you disagree because you are confident that it hasn’t – please click the “Restore Purchase” button in Settings > Premium to resolve the issue.
  • Added a few missing French localizations.

New in Little Snitch Mini 1.2 (Apr 26, 2023)

  • New Features:
  • It’s now possible to click the traffic diagram in the status menu to quickly open the Little Snitch Mini application.
  • The traffic chart, which is opened when clicking one of the traffic thumbnail icons in the connection list, can now be hovered with the mouse to get individual sent & received traffic amounts shown for the hovered time range.
  • The context menu of a hostname entry in the connection list now offers a “Copy IP Address(es)” command when the Option key is pressed (as an alternative to the existing “Copy Hostname” command).
  • Improvements and Bug Fixes:
  • The “Last Minute” time range option in the connection list has been replaced with a “Last 5 Minutes” option.
  • Improved the menu shown in the connection list when clicking the hand icon of a connection that has been blocked by a blocklist to also show the name of the corresponding blocklist.
  • Improved display of app extensions shown in the “Recently Blocked” section of the status menu.
  • Improved accessibility to take the “Increase Contrast” option into account.
  • Fixed a potential memory consumption issue when switching between the connection list and the blocklists view.
  • Fixed: When filtering the connection list to show only connections “From Now”, clicking the “Restart From Now” button didn’t work.
  • Various other bug fixes and stability improvements.
