LiteSwitch Changelog

What's new in LiteSwitch 2.8.3

Jan 16, 2015
  • Performance improvement with processing some types of background apps, a regression introduced a decade ago and made worse by all the new sandboxed background apps in Mavericks & Yosemite. If you experienced unresponsiveness with LiteSwitch on launch, or after restarting Safari with many windows/tabs open, then this was likely the cause.

New in LiteSwitch 2.8 Beta 1 (Jul 16, 2013)

  • Fixes compatibility with OS X Mavericks and eliminates the registration code.

New in LiteSwitch 2.7 Beta 2 (Aug 12, 2010)

  • Added Exposé for app windows. In the app switcher, press the up or down arrow keys to activate Exposé for that app. Once inside Exposé you can choose to select a window or press the tab key to view the next app's windows. The up and down arrows used to bring up the app's contextual menu. The key "m" still does so.
  • Now pressing the number "1" in the switcher window selects the Finder (or Path Finder if running)
  • Enabled the ability to mark the Finder to quit via pressing 'q'. The Finder can then be relaunched from the Dock if desired.
  • When the switching key is held down, LiteSwitch will now stop at the last app on the list until the key is pressed again. This should make it easier to jump to either end.
  • Misc fixes

New in LiteSwitch 2.7 Beta 1 (Apr 17, 2010)

  • New features:
  • The preference pane loads in 64-bit on 10.6
  • Pressing command-escape while using LiteSwitch hides the switcher and no longer triggers a system shortcut that uses the same key combo (OS X default is to show Front Row)
  • App selection by holding down keys now stops at the end of the list
  • Other notable changes:
  • Added option to switcher window's contextual menu to enable/disable display of background apps
  • Up and down arrow keys are now an alternate way to show application contextual menus
  • Mac OS X 10.5 is now the minimum requirement
