  • Fixed an issue in which the “Copy” option for a server item was disabled (in the LastPass browser extension menu) when all fields did not contain data for the item entry.
  • Fixed multiple issues in which LastPass users were unable to import an XML file from KeePass (either they would get an “Invalid format” message or they were stuck in a loading screen at Step #3 and the process never advanced).

New in LastPass 4.114.0 (May 19, 2023)

  • Fixed an issue in which the LastPass browser extension toolbar icon did not display the correct number of relevant sites (based on matching credential sets) when multiple tabs of different sites were open.
  • Fixed an issue for inconsistent behavior when adding and removing items from Favorites.
  • Fixed an issue in which the in-field menu did not appear directly under the selected input field, and would remain open and misaligned when scrolling (instead of the menu closing).
  • Fixed an issue in which adding a new payment card via the LastPass browser extension would result in the subsequent screens to disappear altogether during the add process.
  • Fixed an issue in which editing a password item (to move it into the subfolder of a shared folder) would result in the username and password being cleared from the item.

New in LastPass 4.113.0 (May 19, 2023)

  • LastPass users (with an account type that includes the use of shared folders) can now manage items and manage recipients separately for their shared folders directly from the “Managed Shared Folders” tab of the Sharing Center. Additionally, when moving items into a shared folder, if the item had previously been shared with you by someone else, you are now prompted with the option to either make a copy of the item (so that a locally stored copy can be moved into your shared folder) or to skip the items and proceed with moving only locally stored vault items.
  • A new “copied” message now displays on the LastPass browser extension to indicate that a username or password was successfully copied to the clipboard.

New in LastPass 4.112.0 (Apr 30, 2023)

  • LastPass users adding a new item for the first time (with no matching vault entries) now see an “Add” option within the form field’s menu for LastPass, allowing them to easily add a new vault item manually. Previously, only the “More options” menu was displayed, which did not guide the user to add the item.
  • When visiting a website not stored in their vault, users who access the LastPass browser extension are now shown either the Recents or Favorites tab (depending on the tab the user last accessed) instead of the Relevant tab. Previously, the default view was the Relevant tab, which was empty due to no vault matches.
  • Removed all references to the LastPass Premium plan in the LastPass browser extension toolbar when referencing the Security Dashboard and dark web monitoring features, as they are now included for all account types.

New in LastPass 4.111.0 (Apr 30, 2023)

  • The Security Dashboard is now available to Free users, including the security score and dark web monitoring features.
  • Improvements were made to the "shared item" banner to display the total number of pending items that are shared and awaiting a response (if multiple items are pending). This shared item count also synchronizes with the number displayed in the "Sharing Center" menu item in the left navigation of your vault.
  • Fixed an issue in which the dark web monitoring pane did not display a notification to the user of the limit of email addresses that can be monitored based on the user's subscription plan.
  • Fixed various display issues caused by the onboarding pane, including the vault not resizing and hiding the Add item icon in the lower-right navigation.

New in LastPass 4.110.0 (Mar 14, 2023)

  • Fixed an issue in which Free users would encounter a misleading error message, "LastPass couldn't save your password. Try again." when attempting to add or update a vault item within a shared folder. Now, Free users encounter a message, "It looks like you don't have permission to write to this shared folder" when attempting to manage a shared folder item.
  • Fixed an issue in which the matching sites count in the LastPass browser extension would reflect an incorrect number when switching between sites in two different browsers.

New in LastPass 4.109.0 (Mar 14, 2023)

  • Fixed an issue that allowed users to generate a secure password for a website, even though that was added to the "Never Generate Password" section of the Never URLs configuration page in Account Settings.
  • Fixed an issue in which users were unable to import data (that was exported from Keeper as a CSV file) into LastPass. Previously, users would encounter either a blank import screen or "Invalid format" error message upon importing. As a workaround, users could add headers to Keeper's exported CSV file and re-import it successfully.
  • Fixed an issue in which the user was not prompted to enter the recipient's address to share an item when sharing a vault item via the LastPass browser extension.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the master password to not be accepted (when making changes in Account Settings) after the user changed their password iteration value and logged out. This issue only affected users of the LastPass browser extension. As a workaround, the user could log out and log back in then make changes in Account Settings and the master password was accepted going forward.

New in LastPass 4.108.1 (Feb 10, 2023)

  • Fixed an issue in which LastPass users (enabled with federated login using PingFederate) were unable to log in to LastPass using the Chrome web browser. As a temporary workaround, these impacted federated login users were able to access LastPass using Firefox until they received this current version (v4.108.1) containing a resolution.

New in LastPass 4.108.0 (Feb 10, 2023)

  • Fixed an issue that caused the browser extension menu to return incorrect search results after a new item was added via the web vault.
  • Fixed an issue that caused special characters (from exported KeePass data) to be converted to HTML when imported into LastPass, rendering the imported data invalid.

New in LastPass 4.107.1 (Jan 30, 2023)

  • Updated the default password length from 12 to 16 characters in the secure password generator.
  • Fixed an issue that caused users with enabled identities to have an inconsistent experience. Previously, when an identity was actively being used, both the vault and browser extension toolbar would continue to show all vault items (instead of filtering by items that applied to the identity. However, the in-field LastPass icon (save + fill feature) would filter the vault items for the identity (as expected), resulting in the appearance that the autofill functionality was not working properly.
  • Improvements were made to ensure the new extension menu and new save + fill features are working co-dependently.
  • Fixed an issue in which search results were not returned when the Advanced extension setting "Search within secure notes" was disabled.
  • Fixed an issue with inconsistent behavior when editing multiple vault items simultaneously. As a result, the previous editing functionality has been restored, and users will now see a separate browser tab of their vault open for each item with the Edit pane displayed.
  • Fixed an issue in which the "Reused password" alert was inaccurately displayed to users when a new site password (with a securely generated password) was saved to the vault.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Launch feature for some site password entries was not automatically logging users into their accounts.

New in LastPass 4.107.0 (Jan 30, 2023)

  • The new LastPass browser extension menu (mentioned in the previous v4.104.0 release) is now on its way to all LastPass Premium and LastPass Families users. Learn more and view the brand-new look and feel.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Security Dashboard inaccurately indicated that the Multifactor Authentication status was "Inactive" when it was enabled in the user's Account Settings. This issue only affected logins via the LastPass browser extension; logins via the LastPass website (online web vault) were not affected.
  • Fixed an issue in which an item within a shared folder was unable to be deleted when accessed via the "Edit" pane (even though the user was a shared folder admin); instead, these users would encounter a message, "ERROR: You don't have permission to delete items from [Folder Name]." However, these shared folder admins were still able to delete the shared folder item from the folder view within their vault.

New in LastPass 4.106.0 (Dec 20, 2022)

  • LastPass users can now choose to allow LastPass to offer automatic filling of address and payment card information on web forms. Users can manage these two new Notification settings within their LastPass browser extension preferences.
  • LastPass Teams and LastPass Business users who generate TOTP codes from their desktop vault (to sign into third-party apps and websites) will now see that the TOTP code automatically populates in the site's "one-time passcode" field. If the generated code expires before it has been submitted on the site (expires every 30 seconds), then the new TOTP code is automatically generated and filled into site's "one-time passcode" field. This new functionality only applies to sites stored in the user's vault that have a password and secret key stored.

New in LastPass 4.105.0 (Dec 13, 2022)

  • Fixed an issue in which a shared folder would disappear from a user's vault when an existing vault item was moved into that folder. This issue only occurred when the user was logged in to LastPass on Firefox in private browsing mode. As a workaround, users could either refresh sites via the LastPass browser extension, or access their vault from another web browser to view the shared folder.

New in LastPass 4.104.0 (Dec 5, 2022)

  • The new LastPass browser extension menu is on its way to you! LastPass users will receive a new, streamlined, and modernized extension menu experience in the coming weeks. Alongside the brand new look and feel throughout the extension menu, users will appreciate more space devoted to the features they use most – most importantly, their vault data.

New in LastPass 4.103.0 (Dec 5, 2022)

  • A new in-vault navigation experience is now available for all account owners and managers of LastPass Families accounts. This new viewing experience provides the same management capabilities as before, but now management of family members and settings takes place on the dashboard all within the vault. In the previous experience, accessing the Family Manager Dashboard would open a new browser tab/window and navigate away from the owner or manager's vault.
  • Fixed an issue in which the prompt for multifactor authentication expired earlier than the allotted timeout period; upon timeout, users would encounter a message, "Multifactor Authentication required. Upgrade your browser extension so you can enter it" on the login screen. This affected users who were logging in via the LastPass website or using the LastPass browser extension on Chrome only.
  • Fixed an issue in which the LastPass Premium free trial offering message was not displayed when a LastPass Free user (who was enabled to receive a free trial) logged in via the LastPass browser extension.
  • Fixed an issue in which passwords that were saved using the new save & fill experience were not triggering password alerts when the saved password was weak or reused.

New in LastPass 4.102.0 (Dec 5, 2022)

  • Fixed an issue in which the account verification email was not being sent from LastPass during the personal account linking process for federated users (more specifically, federated users whose accounts were prohibited from using Families as a Benefit, but were still able to link their personal account).
  • Fixed an import issue on the new import experience in LastPass in which users would encounter an "invalid format" message and were unable to import their vault data from KeePass using an exported XML file.

New in LastPass 4.101.2 (Oct 20, 2022)

  • Fixed an issue that caused users to be unable to import a KeePass XML file into LastPass in the new import experience. Previously, users would encounter an "Invalid format" error message, or the page would get stuck at "loading" on Step #3 and never advance.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Edit screen (when editing a vault item) to freeze when a new form field was added to an item within a shared folder. Previously, this required a manual refresh of the page in order to save the newly added form fields.
  • Fixed an issue to support the import of note items (within an exported Bitwarden file) when importing Bitwarden data into LastPass. Previously, only password items were included in imports from Bitwarden.
  • Fixed a translation issue in which the "Starter Kit" menu text (from the user account drop-down menu) was not displaying as translated text in the user's chosen language for their online web vault.
  • Fixed an issue that caused all page numbers to be listed individually at the bottom of the import page (instead of being listed with "Previous" and "Next" page navigation) while importing more than 150 items.

New in LastPass 4.100.0 (Oct 20, 2022)

  • LastPass users can now import their vault data using a LastPass Encrypted file (that was exported from LastPass) within the new in-vault import experience.
  • Fixed an issue in which the secure password generator did not include numbers in the generated password, even when specified as a requirement.
  • Fixed an issue in which the login screen was not launching when using the LastPass in-field icon.
  • Fixed an issue in which users encountered a blank screen (instead of being prompted with a multifactor authentication screen) when logging in to the LastPass browser extension with an account enabled to use Google Authenticator or YubiKey as their multifactor option.
  • Fixed the following issues with the secondary onboarding feature (for LastPass Business users):
  • LastPass browser extension menu was not displaying the "completed skills" out of "total skills" count.
  • If the user selected to hide the onboarding panel (from the LastPass browser extension menu), they could not access the onboarding menu again until the web browser page was refreshed.

New in LastPass 4.99.0 (Aug 5, 2022)

  • The new and improved save & fill experience is here! To start using right away, LastPass users can enable the improved save and fill experience from within their LastPass vault, otherwise in the coming weeks this will become the default experience for all users.
  • LastPass users (who log in to their vault using passwordless login) now see an option "Log in with master password" on the login screen of the LastPass browser extension and LastPass website. Previously, these users (whose mobile devices were already enrolled to use the LastPass Authenticator before enabling passwordless login for vault) were only presented with the "Log in with Authenticator" passwordless login option.
  • Fixed various issues in which the secondary onboarding pane (for LastPass Business users) was not displayed in the right navigation of the user's vault after attempting to launch via in-vault messaging, refreshing the online web vault, or reloading the LastPass browser extension.

New in LastPass 4.98.1 (Aug 5, 2022)

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in users being unable to log in to the LastPass browser extension, as the user would enter their master password and the login page would refresh instead of proceeding with the login process.

New in LastPass 4.97.0 (Jul 18, 2022)

  • Fixed multiple issues that caused the LastPass for Safari app extension to display a blank extension menu if your LastPass account had multifactor authentication enabled.
  • Fixed an issue in which viewing or copying a password within the web vault prompted federated users to enter their master password to continue. This occurred only on items with the "Require a master password reprompt" setting enabled, or for user accounts enabled with the "Require master password on copy/view" policy. Before this release, the recommended workaround was to use the LastPass browser extension to view or copy the password item.
  • Fixed multiple backend issues in the LastPass browser extension that contributed to reports of high CPU usage and latency in browser responsiveness.

New in LastPass 4.96.0 (Jun 14, 2022)

  • Passwordless login for your vault is here! All LastPass users can now enable passwordless login for their vault, which allows them to log in to LastPass via push notification in the LastPass Authenticator (using stored biometrics) instead of requiring them to manually enter their master password from that device. Please note that admins LastPass Business and LastPass Teams can control passwordless login for vault via policy for their users. Learn more about passwordless login and how to get started.
  • New in-vault import experience is available for all LastPass users, which includes added support for new import sources and detailed instructions for every supported web browser.

New in LastPass 4.95.0 (Jun 14, 2022)

  • Fixed an issue in which using the Enter key when editing the Notes of a password in your vault would save the changes and close the Edit screen; now, using the Enter key creates a new line in the Notes section.

New in LastPass 4.94.0 (May 24, 2022)

  • Various backend changes were made to support new features and improvements in a future release.

New in LastPass 4.93.0 (Apr 28, 2022)

  • All password items with a weak, reused, or missing password now display a red "Password at risk" indicator on each item in your vault to bring at-a-glance visual awareness to passwords that need attention. Additionally, a new "Change password" option is available when you edit an at-risk password, which will guide you through the process of updating the unsafe password item (changing weak/reused or adding missing) on both the affected site and within your vault. For optimal security, we encourage using our built-in secure password generator when changing passwords for items in your vault.

New in LastPass 4.90.0 (Apr 1, 2022)

  • In-vault messaging is now displayed on the Account Benefits page to inform end users that they cannot link their personal account to their LastPass Business account due to company policy restriction. Previously, end users with this policy restriction enabled could complete the personal account linking process after claiming Families as a Benefit and see a confirmation message, but the account linking status would remain in an "Unlinked" state.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the embedded .gif for the Installation steps (within the in-vault onboarding experience) to display as blank in Safari.
  • Fixed formatting within the messaging of the in-vault onboarding experience in Chrome.

New in LastPass 4.89.0 (Mar 3, 2022)

New in LastPass 4.87.0 (Mar 3, 2022)

  • mproved messaging is now shown to users when they attempt to create a new account using a domain for a company that has already been verified with LastPass. Previously, users would encounter a generic error message or the page would never load, whereas now they see the message, "Please contact your IT administrator for help signing up for LastPass."
  • Fixed an issue in which password entries that were created using the Save All Entered Data method were displaying an "N/A" status within the "Password strength" column of the Password Security page (instead of displaying a percentage).
  • Fixed an issue in which the in-vault onboarding panel would reappear (after being manually hidden by the user) once the page reloaded or when the user logged out and logged back in to LastPass.
  • Fixed an issue in which vault data failed to export (i.e., no CSV file was generated) for LastPass Free users whose active device type was set as "Mobile" within their account.

New in LastPass 4.86.0 (Jan 12, 2022)

  • Google Workspace is now supported as an Identity Provider (IdP) for federated login for LastPass Business accounts. Once set up, LastPass Business users are able to log in to LastPass using their company's Google Workspace credentials without having to create and use a separate Master Password. Learn how to set up.
  • New at-a-glance status indicators are now shown on password entries within your Vault to alert you if a password is weak, reused, or missing (shown as "Password at risk"), or if the email address associated with a site password entry has been compromised (shown as "Breach detected").
  • Improvements were made to the look and feel of the status icons of the Password Security page.
  • Various design and functionality improvements were made to the "leave" and "delete" flows for LastPass Families.
  • Fixed an issue in which the security score calculation included shared items as part of the score count if there were five (5) or less items locally stored in the user's Vault. This previously triggered a low security score alert, but the Security Dashboard was empty due to the contributing items being shared and not locally stored.
  • Design improvements were made to the security score alert messaging for 0% security scores.
  • Fixed an issue in which the security score calculation included secure notes.
  • Fixed an issue in which a previously compromised email address was not unsubscribed from dark web monitoring after enforcing the "Control dark web monitoring" policy with a value set to 3 (i.e., Turn off dark web monitoring for all users, even if they had previously activated it before this policy was implemented).
  • Fixed an issue in which password entries that were created using the Save All Entered Data method were displaying an "N/A" status within the "Password strength" column of the Password Security page (instead of displaying a percentage).
  • Fixed an issue which caused users to be unable to log in to LastPass when the "Override default MFA methods" policy was enforced and configured to allow any authentication method except for the LastPass Authenticator.
  • Fixed an issue in which the "Link Account" option was displayed in users' Vaults even if the "Prohibit linked personal account" policy was enabled.

New in LastPass 4.85.1 (Dec 2, 2021)

  • Under-the-hood performance improvements in preparation for a future release.

New in LastPass 4.85.0 (Dec 2, 2021)

  • A new "Control dark web monitoring" policy is now available for LastPass Business accounts. If enabled, LastPass performs a background security scan against a database of known third-party security breaches for each monitored username in their end users' Vaults; if a compromised username is detected, the user will receive an alert and an email notification identifying the compromised website and recommending preventative measures. By default, this policy is enabled and set to allow end users to control the usernames that are monitored. Previously, LastPass Business admins were not able to control the use of dark web monitoring within their organization. Learn more.
  • Fixed an issue in which federated login users were unable to verify their linked personal account after claiming their Families as a Benefit offer. Previously, these users would either encounter an error or get stuck in a loop when attempting to verify.

New in LastPass 4.84.0 (Dec 2, 2021)

  • Various operability changes and minor bug fixes were implemented to improve the stability and overall performance of the LastPass web browser extension and online Vault.

New in LastPass 4.82.0 (Nov 5, 2021)

  • When LastPass users navigate to a site (for which they have credentials saved in their Vault) and the password strength is determined to be weak, they now see an in-browser notification where they can click View password and be taken directly to the Password Security page in the Security Dashboard of their Vault to change their weak password which improves their security score.
  • Federated login users now see that multifactor authentication is enabled for their account (with an automatic increase of 10% on their security score) since multifactor authentication must be set up at the Identity Provider level (within Azure AD, Okta, or AD FS settings) and not at the LastPass level (within the Multifactor Options tab in the Account Settings of their Vault). Previously, the security score of federated login users indicated that multifactor authentication was not set up, and therefore deducted 10% from their security score.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the personal "account linking" feature to be presented to users (on the Account Benefits page, after activating Families as a Benefit) even when the "Prohibit linked personal account" policy was enabled for the user. Please note that if the user completed the account linking process that was presented to them, the system never successfully linked the user's personal account to their LastPass Business account.

  • Fixed an issue in which federated login users were unable to verify their linked personal account after activating LastPass Families as a Benefit in their LastPass Business account. Previously, the account linking status would remain in a "Needs Verification" state but a verification email was never sent to the user.

  • Changes were implemented to provide expired LastPass Families users (i.e., now LastPass Free users) with an offer via in-Vault messaging to purchase LastPass Premium or renew their expired LastPass Families subscription. Previously, expired LastPass Families users were not provided any upgrade or renewal options after converting to LastPass Free. For more information, please see My LastPass Families plan has expired, what options do I have?
  • Fixed an issue which caused multiple instances of the LastPass In-Field and/or Generate Password icons to appear in the username and password fields, respectively, of various login pages.
  • Fixed an issue in which the LastPass web browser extension erroneously populated the current site password in the first field provided (e.g., the "Old password" field was expected but only "New password" and "Confirm new password" fields are displayed) when users would attempt to change their account password for certain websites.

New in LastPass 4.79.0 (Sep 15, 2021)

  • Various operability changes and minor bug fixes were implemented to improve the stability and overall performance of the LastPass web browser extension and online Vault.

New in LastPass 4.78.0 (Sep 15, 2021)

  • LastPass users that have accessed their online web Vault (by logging in to the LastPass website) can now utilize account recovery to reset their Master Password using a Recovery One Time Password if it is ever forgotten. This means that a Recovery One Time Password (ROTP) is now captured and stored in the local cache of any web browser that is used to log in to the LastPass website, and the ROTP can be used during the account recovery process from any web browser that was used to access LastPass (as long as the user has not cleared the local cache of the web browser that was used). Previously, a Recovery One Time Password was only captured if a LastPass user logged in to the LastPass web browser extension only.

  • If desired, employees can choose to link their personal LastPass Families account to their company's LastPass Business account, which allows them to keep Vault entries all in one place while both accounts remain separate.
  • Additionally, LastPass admins can view more details about the Families as a Benefit offer, policy restrictions, and available support options for users at Families as a Benefit - FAQs for Admins.

New in LastPass 4.72.0 (Jun 22, 2021)

  • LastPass now uses the zxcvbn library to assist in calculating password strength for individual passwords stored in users' LastPass Vaults. Using the zxcvbn library to derive password strength calculations also aligns with industry standards and security best practices to ensure accuracy and consistency across LastPass. Individual password strength percentages are typically 0-25-50-75-100%, but may display a different value if an individual password has been reused on multiple entries in your Vault. Learn more about password strength calculation.
  • Fixed an issue in which shared folders and/or linked personal accounts were not displayed in the Vaults of LastPass EU customers after logging in via the LastPass web browser extension. • Made a change to the security score implementation in which the security score will now display a fixed unknown value "?" if there are no stored passwords in the user's Vault. In the previous implementation, the security score displayed as 0% which counted negatively against the user (i.e., a "Not so safe" status).

New in LastPass 4.70.0 (Jun 4, 2021)

  • Our favorite feature in the LastPass Mac App is the Quick Search. Whenever you need to find a password or Secure Note, just call up the Quick Search with the Shift+Command+L hotkey (⇧⌘L) or from the LastPass Menu Bar Icon.
  • It lets you instantly find what you need, so you can keep interruptions to your workflow to a minimum. Once the Quick Search is open, enter a keyword to find any login or Secure Note and use the Launch button to open the website in your default browser. Then LastPass instantly fills the username and password, and logs in for you.
  • A Streamlined Workflow:
  • Just like our browser extensions and mobile apps, LastPass for Mac offers a Vault where you can conveniently edit, organize, share, and manage your passwords, Secure Notes, and more. It’s the same experience you’re accustomed to in the browser, optimized for the Mac desktop.
  • LastPass for Mac is also built to offer the same convenient offline access available with the LastPass browser extensions. Your data is backed up automatically with a secure local copy, so it’s available even without an Internet connection. And when you connect again, LastPass securely syncs your data so your Vault is always up-to-date.
  • Real-Time Security:
  • LastPass has always focused on helping you create stronger passwords and keeping you informed of your progress in improving your online security. The Security Challenge in the Mac app gives a real-time analysis on the strength of your passwords and a snapshot of your security score.
