JANIS Changelog
What's new in JANIS 4.0
Sep 18, 2013- New functionalities:
- Possibility to save and restore in XML format the state of JANIS: plots, tables, settings, etc.
- Load own data: plot, tabulate and compare user's data provided in simple ASCII format
- Possibility to multiply data by energy (similar to 'x sqrt(E)', which was already available)
- Fission Yields can be displayed on 2D colormaps:
- colormap FYI 235U colormap GEFY33 225Th
- Web interface with basic features
- Code Signing Certificate
- Recently released libraries are included in the NEA database:
- GEFY-3.3 (GEF-based fission-fragment yield library)
- Nubase 2012 (Basic nuclei properties)
- TENDL-2012 (TALYS-based evaluated nuclear data library)
- Corrected bugs and improved functionalities:
- Save of nuclide charts as pictures was exporting only the top-left corner of the whole chart
- Using 'Move top' with the 'Data' level in Selection Tree setting dialog was not working
- The search done by the 'Compare with evaluated data' feature is now faster
- Multi-byte Unicode labels (e.g. Japanese) were incorrectly placed on plots
- PDF font embedding was not working with Java 7
- Plotter was becoming slower when zooming on detail with Y axis in Lin and many curves out of the Y range of the zoomed region
- Decay Path Viewer: mode 'A Z Symbol N' implemented for nuclide labels
- ENDF MF3+MF33 was incorrectly labelled as 'Cross section + Variance' as the 'Standard deviation' was the quantity used to display the error band
- EXFOR search results now only display the first author to reduce the width of results table, others authors are displayed in a tooltip
- The EXFOR unit 'MB2/SR2' was understood as milli(barn2) instead of (milli(barn))2
New in JANIS 3.4 (May 31, 2012)
- Functionalities:
- Support of recent changes in ENDF format:
- Extension of the fission energy release format (MF1/MT458)
- New format for Resolved Resonance Parameters : R-Matrix Limited Format (MF2, LRF=7)
- Decay paths viewer has been redesigned to provide a clearer display and more customization options
- Recently released libraries are included in the NEA remote database
- Corrected bugs and improved functionalities:
- Resolved and Unresolved Resonance Parameters display has been extended
- 'Cross section + Variance' display was wrong: the shaded area was incorrectly showing triangular shapes, the bug was corrected and it is now possible to tabulate variances
- Weighting can be used with computations results
- Database connection dialog has been simplified.
- An option “Unselect Others” was added in Renderer selection component
- EXFOR searches with ‘Product A’ where not retrieving results
- CINDA Search “open results” was sometimes generating NullPointerException
New in JANIS 3.3 (Jan 24, 2012)
- New functionalities:
- Display of neutron and proton drip lines on the Nuclide Chart
- Search on nuclide now accepts ranges for Z, A
- File Open dialog automatically detects file format when set to AUTO
- Plots can be exported in PDF format
- Display of radioactive nuclide production data from ENDF File 8
- Corrected bugs and improved functionalities:
- Goto dialog has been simplified
- Display of magic lines
- Computation dialog is more robust
- Anti-aliasing preference for text and curves displayed in Renderer window(s)
- Memory usage was improved and is now displayed at the right of the status bar
- New plot marks
