  • After many years of working on Investoscope, it is with both regret and relief that the developers have decided that it is time to pull the plug on Investoscope.
  • This is what it means for you, as an Investoscope user:
  • Investoscope will no longer be developed.
  • There will be no more active support and emails regarding Investoscope will no longer be answered.
  • Investoscope will continue to be available on the Mac App Store for now.
  • The full version is now available for free for everyone.

  • Fixed a regression bug in the Performance report introduced in 2.3.3 that caused the Gain/Loss to be incorrectly calculated, if there is a stock split in the report period.

  • Historical quotes retrieval from Yahoo! Finance restored. Yahoo recently made a small change to their protocol breaking Investoscope's retrieval of historical quotes.
  • Bug fix: The formula for the IRR sometimes has multiple solutions of which only one is correct in a financial sense. However, sometimes Investoscope would report one the financially incorrect solutions in the performance report.
  • Bug fix: In the Performance report, closed lots would not be correctly split adjusted if there was a split within the report period and the sell date was before the split date.
  • Bug fix: The Performance report now includes transactions entered on the day before the from date.

  • Bug fix: In the Performance Report, the Initial Value column would include positions that were closed the day before the from date.

  • Added a "Weight" column to the portfolio holdings screen which displays the value of each position as a percentage of the total portfolio value (or equity value, if the cash balance is negative).
  • Automatic backup of the database is no longer optional. Also, the backup location is now fixed to a folder inside Investoscope's application support folder. The backup folder can be viewed in the Finder by choosing File > Open Automatic Backups Folder.
  • The capital gains displayed in the "Realized" tab can now be exported to CSV.
  • Lots of other enhancements.

  • History charts can now optionally be plotted using logarithmic scale.

  • Yahoo! Finance no longer have distinct data download servers for Europe. Therefore, there is now only one quote feed option for Yahoo! Finance. As a side effect, this unfortunately also means that security lookups by ISIN is a thing of the past. This only worked with the European server which are now redirected to the US servers.
  • The historical quotes panel is no longer a transparent HUD panel. This change was necessary to comply the conditions of Apple's App Store.
  • The backup folder is now automatically sanitized. Automatic backups older than two months are automatically deleted.
  • Special characters from Yahoo! Finance and Google Finance are now correctly decoded.
  • Bug fix: The portfolio charts would under certain circumstances be incorrect for portfolio folders.
