There was a mistake in the release build of 3.8.4 in that it was not built with native support for Apple Silicon-based Macs (it still ran fine via Rosetta, though). This has been fixed and development has been suitably shamed and forced to listen to smooth jazz.

New in Home Inventory 1.7.2 (May 4, 2008)

  • A user from the other other side of the Atlantic dropped me an e-mail yesterday to to tell me about a bug in the way Home Inventory displays purchase dates. When Home Inventory is not in edit mode, dates in the item view are are always displayed in the US format (mm/dd/yyyy) instead of being properly localized (in this case Home Inventory should have display the date using the dd/mm/yyyy format). Oops. When Home Inventory was in edit mode, the localization was correct so score half a point for at least getting part of it right. A little more checking revealed that reports also did not have the date properly localized (there goes my half point). A new version of Home Inventory, version 1.7.2, fixes these issues and is now available for download

New in Home Inventory 1.7.1 (Apr 21, 2008)

  • Version 1.7.1 contains a few minor bug fixes and tweaks, including: addressing a problem where window position was not being properly maintained when re-loading an existing document, rephrasing the message shown when deleting an item, and moving the location where temporary files are kept to ~/Library/Application Support.
