Growly Journal Changelog

What's new in Growly Journal 1.5.3

Sep 6, 2023
  • The scale at the bottom of the window uses the accent color you chose in System Preferences to indicate the current day.

New in Growly Journal 1.5.2 (Jun 10, 2023)

  • When you use Edit→Copy From Previous Day, it puts the insertion point at the end of the copied text instead of the beginning.

New in Growly Journal 1.5.1 (May 15, 2023)

  • Typing when a field is selected but not active (no blinking insertion point or selected text) used to replace the field with the typed text. Now the new text is appended to the field, which is much safer. If you want to replace an entire field, click in it and choose Edit→Select All, then type.
  • You can undo separate changes within the same text field. Previously all changes were grouped together into one undo action.
  • The scroll bar at the bottom of the window has been replaced with a scale that shows the extent and divisions for the view you’re working in. For example, when showing the same day in every year, the scale will show all the days of the year by month, so you can more accurately scroll to where you want to go.

New in Growly Journal 1.5 (Nov 15, 2022)

  • Journal now requires Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite or later.
  • The day of the week in the day entry was supposed to be flush right, but it wasn’t.
  • On Mac OS 13 Ventura, closing the font panel would try to quit the app. Thanks, Apple.

New in Growly Journal 1.4.1 (Jun 17, 2022)

  • Printing did not work on Mac OS 11 Big Sur.
  • Other printing improvements include using short month and day names in the date field, and a new preference to set the font to use when printing.
  • The second time you chose View→Find to search Appointments, the dialog did not remember that you searched for Appointments.

New in Growly Journal 1.2.3 (Apr 18, 2018)

  • The “Problem Logs” commands available in other GrowlyBird apps are now present on the Help menu here too.
  • The annoying underlines on acronyms are gone. They picked these up in a recent system update, but they’re not links, so now they’re not underlined.
  • Improvements to help.

  • Journal now requires Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
  • Several bug fixes, including a nasty one caused by a change in Mac OS 10.12 Sierra.

  • Bug fixes.

New in Growly Journal 1.2.0 (Dec 28, 2015)
