  • BUG FIXES & MINOR CHANGES:
  • Fix for Sign In Issues:
  • Previously, users had to sign in every time they joined or hosted a session due to backend authentication issues (introduced in v8.8.0, b7297). Now, the sign in flow will revert back to normal and users will not have to sign in again as long as the "Remember me on this computer" option is checked while logging in.
  • Fix for Mac App Crashing after Viewer is Taken Out of Full-Screen mode:

  • Mac attendees in the Hallway ("Waiting for organizer' screen) will now see a "You'll sound best with a headset" tip rather than "You'll sound best with headset". (COLLABEP-13733)

Stable audio quality in unstable network conditions (RAE-2128).
  • Bug Fixes & Minor Changes:
  • Fix for Mac App Crashing when App Sharing is in Full Screen Mode: Previously, when Mac Presenters shared an application window and put that window into full screen mode, the app would crash after a brief pause. Now, the app will run properly even after the shared window goes into full screen mode. (COLLABEP-18998)
  • Fix for Mac App Crashing when Switching Apps while Sharing: Previously, when Mac Presenters shared an application window and then switched applications, the GoTo app would crash. Now, Presenters will be able to share an application and switch to different applications within the session properly. (COLLABEP-19020)
  • Additional fixes & minor changes:
  • Fix for missing content flow when users haven't used the app in a long time and use social sign in login, invalidating the credentials (COLLABEP-18696)
  • Fix for users with multiple webcams seeing a "Failure to initialize" or "Webcam is in use" message when sharing a webcam during a session (COLLABEP-18179)
  • The attendee count in the Attendee pane will no longer display as greater than the maximum number of attendees allowed on the organizer's subscription plan (i.e., "102 of 101"), even if there are more attendees present than the maximum permitted on the plan. This was made to accommodate special cases in which the number of attendees in a meeting might exceed the base limit, such as if users crash and rejoin or if multiple co-organizers are permitted. (COLLABEP-18319)
  • Cosmetic improvements have been made to the Join and Hallway windows ("Waiting for organizer" screen)

  • To start sharing a whiteboard, presenters can do the following:
  • 1. Click the Show My drop-down menu and select A Real Whiteboard (this will also show the webcam device connected to the computer).
  • 2. The Viewer will launch and use the webcam to search for the presenter's whiteboard. Presenters can use their mouse to drag the corners of the orange box and align them with the corners of their whiteboard, then select Yes, share this.
  • 3. Presenters should then step away from the webcam so Sightboard can focus on the whiteboard. Once they are ready for the countdown, select Share the whiteboard.

  • Ability for Mac Users to Resize the Attendee Pane
  • Mac users can now change the height of the Attendee pane, which is a commonly requested feature by customers wanting to see the full attendee list. To do so, users can drag the new resize bar at the bottom of the list. Double-clicking on the bar will restore the pane to its default height. (GTMNKCC-4095)
  • Note that this feature is already available for Windows users.
  • Updated Voice Audio Engine (v1.8.0, b213)
  • The Voice Audio Engine used to connect session participants to the audio conference has been updated to the newest version (v1.8.0, b213). This new version will provide overall improvements to the audio conference during sessions and includes multiple bug fixes, including the following: (COLLABEP-10797)
  • Fix for loss of audio when iPhone6S users choose speaker mode (RAE-1429)
  • Fix for echos on Mac (RAE-1432)
  • GoToMeeting Only:
  • Improvements to the "Joined Muted" Announcement for Mac Users
  • After joining a meeting, Mac attendees who have their preferences set to "Mute me when joining a meeting" will now see the "You're muted right now" message display an interactive Mic icon (instead of the Daisy icon ). Attendees can now click the Mic icon within the dialog to immediately unmute themselves (this will not change the preference setting). As always, they can also mute and unmute themselves any time by clicking the Mic icon
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Fix for Overlapping Content in GoToWebinar Waiting Room
  • The GoToWebinar Waiting Room (i.e., no one is sharing their screen) will no longer display overlapping text. Previously, when a webinar had a long title and/or many presenters, that content would be overlapped with the audio information and be hard to read. With layout changes that include removing the audio information from the screen, the Viewer will now have additional room to accommodate long webinar titles, and all organizers and presenters. The audio information will continue to be available in the Audio pane of the Control Panel at all times. (COLLABEP-8320)
  • Fix for Desktop App being Prematurely Uninstalled
  • The Mac desktop app will no longer be prematurely removed (i.e., automatically uninstalled while it is still the active build) for some users. Previously, the Mac desktop app's "created" date did not always match the date/time that it was actually installed on the user's computer, so it was possible for the app's Automatic Updater tool to erroneously detect that a build was installed more that 90 days previously and therefore remove it, even if it was actually the most recently installed build. (COLLABEP-11010)
  • Security Fix for Automatic Updates Clashing With Security Policy
  • Previously, users who had a security policy that blocked the execution of script files experienced downloading issues. The Automatic Updater tool will no longer use a script, eliminating issues and extra attention and actions by users. (COLLABEP-11018)
  • Fix for Missing Poll Question and Responses in Attendee Report
  • Previously, when Mac organizers ended a webinar without closing out of the last poll question, the result for that one particular question asked would not appear in the Attendee Report. Organizers can now leave the poll launched or closed when ending a webinar, and it will be included in the Attendee Report. (COLLABEP-10842)
  • Fix for Audio Echo
  • When the new Voice Audio Engine (v1.8.0, b213) was introduced in v7.9.0, b4288, the team became aware of a pre-existing bug that sometimes caused echo during audio sessions. As a result, the component of the new Voice Audio Engine that is responsible for causing the echo to occur more frequently has been temporarily removed with this build (v7.9.1, b4340). It will eventually be added back in a later release once the echo issue is resolved, but until that time the "Better audio quality in case of network issues (RAE-1357)" item that was originally listed in the v7.9.0, b4288 release notes has been removed. (COLLABEP-11278)
  • Fix for a Black Screen on Recordings
  • Previously, users were seeing varying minutes of a black screen in both the original and converted recordings. The recording showed a black screen until an action (such as moving the mouse, typing or switching slides) changed the state of the shared screen. Users will now be able to record and convert their recordings correctly. (COLLABEP-11281)
  • Additional fixes:
  • Fix for iOS participant's webcams sometimes being displayed upside-down to Windows users (IPX-1144)
  • Fix for some Mac GoToWebinar organizers seeing missing Q&A in Attendee Report (COLLABEP-10659)
  • Fix for GoToMeeting chat messages being overlapped by response options (i.e., Reply to All, Reply) (GTMNKCC-4397)
  • Fix for Mac attendees seeing the Grab Tab appear halfway down the Control Panel rather than at the top (GTMNKCC-4085)
  • Fix for Mac attendees seeing a non-functioning Control Panel even after the session has ended (GTMNKCC-4036)
  • Fix for Windows users seeing a truncated Audio pane in the GoToWebinar and GoToTraining Control Panel when there are audio difficulties (e.g., not connecting or configured) (COLLABEP-10889)
  • Fix for GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, and GoToTraining freezing when Windows users try to share their screens while any third-party application running on the desktop is not responding (COLLABEP-10878)
  • Fix for the wrong portion of the screen sometimes being shared when Windows 10 presenters on a high-DPI monitor share a specific application (i.e., the shared portion is off-center from the application that was selected) (COLLABEP-10927)
  • Fix for some Windows attendees experiencing the GoToMeeting Viewer crashing when screen sharing is stopped as they are scrolling through the Viewer (IPX-1143)
  • Cosmetic fix for GoToMeeting "Low disk space" message being misaligned or cut, or overlapping into the Attendee pane in the Control Panel (GTMNKCC-4231)
  • Cosmetic fix for Mac attendees seeing distorted images and stretched logos while in the GoToWebinar Hallway (i.e., Waiting for organizer screen) (COLLABEP-8320)
  • Cosmetic fix for the panes in the Welcome Mat (i.e. GoToMeeting Suite) being misaligned for Mac users (COLLABEP-10958)

  • Additional fixes
  • Ability to Join Meeting Using Personal Meeting Page Names:
  • GoToMeeting users can now type in a personal meeting page name (i.e., GoToMeet.me) in the Join a Session window of the desktop app. To do so, right-click the GoToMeeting Daisy icon in the system tray (Windows) or Menu (Mac) and select Join. Then simply start typing the personal meeting room name and it will automatically insert "gotomeet.me/". Previously, users could only join via the 9-digit meeting IDs. (COLLABEP-10085)

New in GoToMeeting 7.6.0 Build 4007 (Dec 8, 2015)

  • Highlights:
  • GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar GoToTraining:
  • Improvements to automatic updates
  • GoToTraining only:
  • Ability for co-organizers to run activities
  • Recording Manager only available manually
  • Activity Center no longer under Attendee list
  • Bug fixes and changes
  • Improvements to Automatic Updates:
  • Previously, sometimes users who had "automatic updates" enabled (under Preferences > Start Up) but who did not keep their computers powered on or awake for long enough periods of time would not have their desktop app updated proactively. This would result in their having to complete the update "on demand" when starting or joining a session, even though they enabled automatic updates. Now, improvements were made to the desktop app's Automatic Updater tool to increase the likelihood that updates are completed ahead of time (i.e., "proactively") and decrease the likelihood that these users will need to complete an update on demand when trying to start or join a session. (COLLABEP-10257)
  • If a user has installed the desktop app on a hard drive other than the computer's primary "startup" drive (such as an external hard drive connected by USB), then the desktop app's Automatic Updater tool will no longer remove older builds from that other hard drive. Previously, the Automatic Updater tool would delete older desktop app builds from all drives, including non-startup ones. Now, it will no longer "clean up" non-startup drives in order to allow users to keep back-up copies of older builds. (COLLABEP-10266)
  • Recording Manager Only Available Manually:
  • After a GoToTraining organizer who is using online recording ends a recorded session, the Recording Manager (which allows organizers to convert their raw recording files) will no longer automatically pop up and prompt the organizers to convert their local recording file. Instead, the My Recordings page will be the only thing that automatically pops up (which is the current behavior and shows the organizer where their online recording was saved). (COLLABEP-10108)
  • Note: Organizers can still access the Recording Manager manually at any time; the only change is that organizers will not be automatically prompted to convert their local recordings, since the local recording is only a backup to the online recording. Note that in the event that online recording fails for any reason and defaults to the local recording, the Recording Manager will appear at the end of that session.
  • Activity Center No Longer Under Attendee List:
  • When an organizer launches an activity during a training, a new "Activity Center (organizer)" attendee will no longer appear under the Attendees pane. (COLLABEP-10467)
  • Bug Fixes and Changes:
  • Fix for Windows desktop app disappearing and removing the attendee from the session if the user joined the session while the Audio Service was down (COLLABEP-10496)
  • Fix for Webcam button in the Control Panel not appearing until 2 to 3 minutes after the meeting has started (COLLABEP-10531)
  • Fix for organizers with bad network connections having the desktop app crash when they are trying to sign in from the Hallway at the same time that a co-organizer is starting the meeting (COLLABEP-10527)
  • Change that causes GoToTraining organizers to be prompted to log in to their account when they launch an activity during a training (if they are not already logged in on their browser) (COLLABEP-10362)
  • Cosmetic fix for text being truncated or wrapped incorrectly in non-English locales (GTMNKCC-4082)

  • GoToWebinar will now be included in the v7 series of desktop app builds, meaning that customers running v6 can now be updated to v7 and will receive the changes and fixes included in those builds. However, this does NOT mean that GoToWebinar users will see the new design of the Control Panel and Viewer; they will not receive those changes until a later date and will continue to see the original Control Panel and Viewer until that time.
  • New Audio Engine:
  • GoToMeeting has been transitioned to a new Voice Engine (v1.5, b94) that provides better audio quality for users. It also resolves the following critical issues:

  • Fix for audio output (e.g., speakers) becoming mute on iPads after Control Center volume slider was moved to zero and back (RAE-1119)
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Fixes for Shared Video Streaming (Labs)
  • If a Windows Presenter shares a video during a meeting that has not yet had anyone share a screen or share their webcams, Windows attendees should no longer experience issues viewing shared video. Previously, a bug prevented them from properly viewing the shared video and they instead saw the waiting room (sharing their own webcam was a workaround that sometimes resolved the issue). (IPX-666; GTMNKCC-2484)
  • If a Presenter shares their own webcam during a meeting and then later starts sharing a video, Windows attendees should no longer see a frozen version of the shared video in the place of the Presenter's previously shared webcam (in addition to seeing the video stream). (IPX-665)
  • Fixes for Desktop App Stability:
  • Various improvements were made to increase the stability of the Mac desktop app and decrease unexpected crashes. (COLLABEP-5110; -5111 ;-8065)
  • Improvements were made to help prevent unexpected desktop app crashes for both Windows and Mac users. (COLLABEP-8067)
