  • GameRanger, the multiplayer gaming network, now welcomes PC gamers into its community. GameRanger offers support for playing over 500 games and demos.

New in GameRanger 4.8.1 (Jun 13, 2008)

  • Added Battlestations: Midway
  • Added Battlestations: Midway Demo
  • Added Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
  • Halo Universal Binary is now supported (and required). This does not affect Halo Demo.

New in GameRanger 4.8 (Jun 2, 2008)

  • Game Invites. You can now right-click to send invites to friends to join your game room (or chat room). You must be on that person's friend list to send them an invite. You do not need to be the host of the game room.
  • Friends will now have green circle (distinct from the green dot) when they are in a game room (but have not yet launched).
  • You can join a friend's room by right-clicking on them, or by choosing Join Game from the File menu (Cmd-J). The friend does not have to be the host of the room.
  • The Main Chat Room section will now automatically log back in if you had it open previously. It still defaults to closed for new users, and while it's closed, you will still be logged out of that room.
  • The game plug-in loading system has been further optimised, so this will make GameRanger launch slightly faster.
  • Improved the game networking system so that some TCP games will have smoother net play.
  • Fixed the Intel versus PowerPC incompatibility error message. The error was correct about incompatibility, but the message was reversed.
