FuzzMeasure Pro Changelog

What's new in FuzzMeasure Pro 4.0.2

Mar 11, 2016
  • Bug fixes:
  • Corrected a layout issue in the sidebar when running El Capitan
  • FuzzMeasure no longer allows you to attempt exporting a waterfall graph CSV (which was never possible, and led to a crash.)
  • Fixed several small issues with printing graphs, such as the Reverberation Time plot displaying T20 values labeled as T30 in the printout
  • Removed a crash that occurred when switching audio devices
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when a device is stopped during a measurement
  • FuzzMeasure no longer crashes when deleting the sole microphone calibration record

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 4.0.1 (Sep 16, 2015)

  • Enhancements:
  • Holding the option key when pressing the '+' button will measure immediately, similar to using the Measurement > Measure command in the main menu
  • You can option-click the 'C' button to clear a stored SPL calibration value in the level meter, and return to the dBFS display
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Corrected an alignment issue in the level meter
  • Printed graphs no longer "creep downward" with subsequent pages
  • Waterfall graphs now properly retain their start/duration values when printed and exported as images
  • Fixed a visual glitch in the in-graph segmented control
  • The impulse response exporting UI now correctly uses the initial file type when exporting the file
  • When the extents are locked in the waterfall graph, setting a new start or duration value now unlocks extents to avoid overdrawing the Z axis
  • Addressed a pair of crashes that could occur when FuzzMeasure quits
  • Corrected a crash that affected the envelope time curve graph when importing impulse responses
  • Fixed an exception that triggered when entering bad values for the sweep amplitude
  • You can no longer specify values greater than 0dB for the sweep amplitude
  • Corrected a crash that occurred when markers ended up in "impossible" places
  • Added extra value validation to the graph extents to prevent locking the UI if a value Measure from the main menu
  • Undo and redo now correctly operate for markers, and dropping markers now correctly marks the document as dirty so they are saved when the document is closed
  • When aborting a measurement, the play button is once again restored
  • Harmonic distortion graph settings for min/max harmonics are now retained when printing or exporting an image

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.3.3 (Aug 27, 2014)

  • Bug Fixes:
  • The Audio Capture Settings window is no longer broken in the French localization
  • Corrected an issue where the field recording paths would not be displayed after using the open panels
  • Fixed some crashes in the impedance plugin

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.3.2 (Jul 17, 2014)

  • Bug Fixes:
  • FuzzMeasure no longer displays 'Could not find file' errors on a fresh install.
  • When using devices with excessively large channel lists, you can now resize the audio capture settings window and scroll within it.
  • When copying / pasting field recording paths, their values are now recognized immediately without requiring a tab out of the text fields.

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.3.1 (Oct 26, 2013)

  • Bug Fixes:
  • FuzzMeasure no longer fails to load the main window on 32-bit Mac machines.
  • Fixes various crashes.

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.3 (Sep 4, 2013)

  • New Features:
  • New and improved audio engine that delivers more consistent results with more types of hardware.
  • FuzzMeasure now bends over backwards to keep delay times consistent (and, as low as possible) between measurements without automatic correction enabled. It's no replacement for the accuracy of an automatic correction, but users will notice a huge improvement in FuzzMeasure's delay times.
  • FuzzMeasure can now play the stimulus signal on multiple output channels.
  • FuzzMeasure's impulse response processing is now faster, and slightly more precise than before.
  • Added an option to retain the impulse window on subsequent measurements. By choosing Measurement > Retain Impulse Window, you can copy an existing record's impulse window for use in all new measurements. This will greatly improve the experience when repetitively measuring results.
  • When using the move tool in graphs, holding the Shift key will lock the movement to a single axis.
  • In addition to AIFF files, you can now also directly export WAV format impulse responses.
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Moved waterfall calculation parameters (offset, duration, etc) to being stored at the document level, and not the individual record level. This will make comparisons between records much easier.
  • When choosing a waterfall camera preset, FuzzMeasure will no longer "revert" the waterfall display to a manually-set camera angle.
  • Waterfall calculations no longer use the windowed impulse response, so their offsets and durations can be considered "absolute". That is, you can now use the peak delay of an impulse to help set your waterfall offset.
  • Entering values in the waterfall fields including their units (i.e. "50ms") will no longer result in an error when the space is omitted between the value and the units field (i.e. "300Hz" vs "300 Hz").
  • Added maximum magnitude text field back to the waterfall display settings
  • The initial waterfall settings are now tuned for low-frequency waterfall use (which is typical for room measurements)
  • The minimum magnitude of waterfall calculations is now set to -60dB below the peak of the waterfall as a starting point.
  • Fixed a crash in the reverberation time plugin when the document window is closed

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.2.5 (Mar 22, 2013)

  • Add Developer ID signing to the application bundle
  • Revamp the level checking code so that it verifies the recorded response signal level rather than the calculated impulse level.

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.2.4 (Mar 22, 2013)

  • Fix the loading of older FuzzMeasure 1.x documents
  • Address a 10.7-specific issue that prevents measurement records from being renamed.

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.2.3 (Oct 29, 2011)

  • Fix the loading of older FuzzMeasure 1.x documents
  • Address a 10.7-specific issue that prevents measurement records from being renamed.

New in FuzzMeasure Pro 3.2 (Apr 10, 2010)

  • New AppleScript commands for processing field recordings, exporting impulses, and applying certain multi-record operations on impulses
  • 64-bit support for 10.6 users
  • Many stability improvements for 10.6 users
  • Memory usage has been reduced considerably, greatly improving performance and stability for all users
  • Added the Envelope Time Curve graph to the time domain
  • Many various little changes. (See the Release Notes in the Help menu for the full history throughout the betas)
