  • If you previously experienced issues with in-app purchases or the pro version, we encourage you to try again by pressing the Upgrade button within the app. Please note that even though it may appear that you will be charged again, you will not be charged twice if you have already purchased the app.

  • We're excited to introduce a new built-in video player that lets you preview both the original and compressed versions of your videos directly within the ShrinkIt app, immediately after compression. We've also made it easy to share your compressed video file directly from the preview screen. Whether you want to use Airdrop, email, or text messages, you can quickly and easily send your newly compressed video to anyone you like.
  • Also fixes a crash that was happening if you press the X button next to the compressing video from the Processing Queue.

New in ShrinkIt 2.0.0 (Feb 21, 2023)

  • We are pleased to announce a new update that includes a new feature for Pro users as well as critical bug fixes to improve the user experience.
  • The latest version of the app now allows Pro users to change the output video extension when compressing videos. This means that if you have a video file in one format, say input-video.mov, you can now choose to compress it and output it in a different format, such as output-video.mp4 or output-video.m4v.
  • The update also includes fixes for a few minor bugs, including one that caused the app to forget the last used values for the Video Quality and Audio Bitrate drop-downs, and another that prevented changes for Custom Suffix from being saved when the checkbox was tapped.

New in ShrinkIt 1.9.9 (Feb 17, 2023)

  • Introducing ShrinkIt's latest feature, which allows you to personalize the output video filename by adding a custom suffix of your choice. Say goodbye to generic video names such as "videofilename-low-32k.mov" and hello to names that are specific to your liking, such as "videofilename-compressed.mov".
  • In addition, this version of ShrinkIt introduces a change to the way files are saved. Rather than overriding the original or previous compressed file with the same name, ShrinkIt will now append an incremental value at the end of the filename. This makes it easier to manage the filenames and not worry about overriding the original file, much like other apps do. For example, "videofile.mov" becomes "videofile(1).mov" if the compressed video is saved in the same folder as the original.
  • We've also resolved a couple of bugs in this version. The first bug was related to the About ShrinkIt page, which wasn't displaying correctly in light mode or on older versions of MacOS. The second bug was related to the button used to open the About ShrinkIt page on older versions of MacOS.

New in ShrinkIt 1.9.8 (Feb 10, 2023)

  • ShrinkIt just got better! With this update, we've fixed a frustrating bug that caused incorrect file saves for video filenames with multiple periods (e.g. video-filename.episode3.mp4 was saving as video-filename.mp4). Special shoutout to Alex for reporting this issue and helping us improve the app!
  • We've also added an "About" page, where you can find essential information about the app, including the version number and our contact information. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for new features, our contact information is now readily available. We'd love to hear from you!

New in ShrinkIt 1.9.7 (Feb 2, 2023)

  • Raised the limit to 1GB for non-pro users.
  • Corrected the issue with local notifications where incorrect output file size was displayed during preview compression.
  • Fixed the bug that prevented users from canceling video compression in case of failure. Users can now simply click the X button to remove the failed file from the queue and retry.

  • Added the ability to mark the compression for Network Use or not, this helps to compress the video accordantly and optimize it properly.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Fixes a major bug that was causing portrait HDR videos (videos recorded from iPhone) from compressing properly. The orientation was being set incorrectly after compression. This update should fix that issue.
