What's new in DiscEject 2.0

Sep 22, 2014
  • Totally new DiscEject Advanced: rewritten from scratch for more strength. Now it also ejects discs that are in use by another application!
  • DiscEject has been improved in stability and speed as well.
  • Now both apps are compatible with OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
  • New icon, in style with Yosemite and ready for Retina display.
  • Now there are two versions of DiscEject: one for internal and one for external disc drives.
  • Note that users with PPC or 10.4 Tiger should download version 1.8 from our website.

New in DiscEject 1.8 (Aug 20, 2012)

  • Improved DiscEject Advanced: now it should eject discs in more situations and even from MacBook Air USB SuperDrive.
  • Now both apps are enabled for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

New in DiscEject 1.7 (Dec 22, 2011)

  • Added DiscEject Service, which will add the possibility to eject discs with a custom keyboard shortcut (see in description how to do it).

New in DiscEject 1.6 (Dec 29, 2010)

  • Added DiscEject Advanced: this is a new application that uses 2 different ejecting techniques for 3 times: you'll probably hear strange noises from the disc drive since the stuck disc is forced to eject more times. Use this only for strong cases.

  • Fixed a newly introduced bug that causes a "double ejecting" on some new Macs.

New in DiscEject 1.4 (Jun 11, 2010)

  • A major effectiveness improvement: now DiscEject will try to eject a stuck disc 3 times, with 3 different safe techniques.

New in DiscEject 1.3 (Feb 8, 2010)

  • DiscEject is up to 2x faster and is now capable to eject a stuck disc in 1 second.
  • This new version runs in background and the "Running" window was deleted.
  • Now, for better performance, you have two different versions: Intel and PowerPC.

New in DiscEject 1.2 (Dec 27, 2009)

  • Now you can eject CD's and DVD's by drag&drop disc icon in DiscEject application icon.
  • If the stuck disc isn't displayed on the desktop, you can open DiscEject to eject him.
