DAQ Plot Changelog

What's new in DAQ Plot 12.16.1

Apr 22, 2024
  • This version is faster and more secure. That is accomplished by pre-caching hashes and other deterministic values into the signed binaries. That is especially important for DAQ Plot as it is designed to show millions of data samples per second on a graph and in textual tables as well as for less intensive data acquisition needs.

New in DAQ Plot 12.15.8 (Mar 18, 2024)

  • This version speeds up launching, fixes bugs and removes API associated with security concerns and replaces those calls with compile-time deterministic implementations.

New in DAQ Plot 12.15.7 (Mar 18, 2024)

  • This version speeds up signal and table drawing and fixes bugs. This fixes a buffer overflow bug that only sometimes bit when a hardware device was specified, that device was unplugged (became unavailable) and then on subsequent launch the error message would cause a buffer overflow. That was the result of using sprintf() which is considered unsafe in modern programming. Thus sprintf() codepaths have been replaced with much more reliable and much faster built-in procedural functions.

New in DAQ Plot 12.15.6 (Feb 11, 2024)

  • Changing the style type produced a crash and that issue has been fixed. There was another crash bug while having the Signal Table Window forward, bringing the column drop-down menu forward and then changing the style type and that issue has been fixed. Additional testing on many variations of style type changes (from Simple, Standard, Pro) with combinations of viewers forward could not produce an additional bug. Synched with other derivatives and the codebase for regression analysis.

New in DAQ Plot 12.15.5 (Feb 1, 2024)

  • Some user interface components are now faster. The build process is about 25% faster and the embedded script engine (for animations, ui bindings, formula generation, etc.) is now faster which means DAQ Plot is faster than ever. A faster build process allows for quicker turn around time to address issues iteratively and also respond to customer requests in a more timely way.

New in DAQ Plot 12.15.2 (Oct 13, 2023)

  • This version is compiled against the Sonoma SDK and toolchain to incorporate compiler and SDK improvements.
  • Sonoma API changes have been accounted for while still maintaining backwards compatibility to El Capitan.
  • The user interface and also data visualization has been optimized further and is faster than ever.

New in DAQ Plot 12.15.1 (Aug 7, 2023)

  • Apple Silicon ARM64 mach-o segment

New in DAQ Plot 12.9.5 (Jul 25, 2018)

  • Tables load faster and show textual data much faster.
  • All graphics are further optimized so that drawing and transitioning to different axes representations is much faster. However, twice the "blink of an eye" is still a "blink of an eye".
  • The save data and open data is now fixed. There was a regression in the previous release where data would have to be saved twice and opened twice to get it to work. This does effect the backup data buffer and only applies to the Open and Save sheet.
  • Incorporates a half-year's worth of optimizations and errata from the previous release.
  • General bug fixes.
