  • This is a minor bug fix release:
  • First, an issue that caused Compartments to lose track of what location you were working on when adding items is fixed. Now, after adding a new item, the current location will be remembered when you add another new item.
  • Second: images dragged in could result in slowing down Compartments over time in the previous version. To fix this if Compartments is sluggish, just edit and re-save the images you've already added. Images added from here on out will not have this problem.

  • Easier Image Changing via drag-and-drop: Press Command-E or the "Change Image" button to bring up a window to choose or drag an image for item without having to go through the edit panel.
  • Fixed tag auto-completion. Tags now auto-complete in all tag fields as expected (such as when adding and editing items).
  • Fixed a bug where an item would not reload if edited while viewing a smart collection.
  • Other minor interface tweaks.

  • Select "Backup Database" from the File menu to instantly back up your Compartments database, including all images and attachments, to the location of your choice.

If you are impacted by this bug, contact [email protected], and we can help you recover the images (the files are not lost, but do not appear properly due to a bug in the way previous versions saved the images).

New in Compartments 1.2.3 (Aug 16, 2010)

  • NEW: Enhanced Notes Field - You can now easily enter items on multiple lines in the notes field. The return and tab keys now function within notes. This makes it easier to enter a list of details in the notes area.
  • Bug Fixes - Fixed a bug where some items with a very high value would appear on report totals as exponents.

  • File Attachments - You can now attach a file to any item—PDFs, images, text, etc. The attachment will appear as a clipping clipped to your image. Click on the clipped document to view your attachment.
  • Totally Rebuilt Reports - Completely redid the report engine and display. Reports are now much better looking, and far better optimized for printing.
  • Added a new area in preferences to customize reports. Choose which fields you want displayed on the reports.
  • Changed verbiage of the report menu items.
