  • Fix: The kernel extension should now load without problems on systems running Yosemite.

  • NEW: Legacy Mode has been removed.
  • Fix: Now correctly handles sleep/wakeup of the Apple® IR Receiver on iMac 2011 models. Previously, the Apple IR Receiver became unavailable on some of these machines after a sleep/wake cycle.

New in Candelair 1.8 (Nov 17, 2011)

  • Fix: addressed an issue where a USB error wasn't handled properly on some Mac Minis (Early 2011) after waking from sleep, resulting in the IR Receiver becoming unresponsive until after a reboot.

New in Candelair 1.7 (Jul 29, 2011)

  • Enhancement: Updated driver (1.18.1) now shows the same display wakeup behavior under Lion as the driver supplied by Apple® with OS X® Lion GM:
  • the display is woken up when a sleeping system was woken up with the Apple Remote.
  • the display will not be woken up when only the display is sleeping and the system is not sleeping.
  • If you want your display to be woken up whenever you press a button on your Apple Remote, you should give Remote Buddy a try, which provides this more friendly behavior.

New in Candelair 1.6 (Jul 21, 2011)

  • NEW: Lion support. Driver updated to version 1.18.

New in Candelair 1.5.1 (Jun 10, 2011)

  • Fix: Fixed a rarely occurring IOKit driver matching issue (introduced with driver version 1.9.0) that led to parts of Candelair being matched to regular, unrelated HID devices (like keyboards, mice, joysticks).

New in Candelair 1.2 (Nov 15, 2010)

  • Enhancement: Updated driver version 1.8.1 from Remote Buddy 1.16.6

New in Candelair 1.1 (Dec 16, 2009)

  • NEW: Support for the new Aluminum Apple® Remote
  • Change: The compatibility mode for applications with 10.5 dependencies has been renamed to "Legacy Compatibility Mode".
  • Note: If you want to use an application under OS 10.6.2 whose Apple® Remote support works under 10.5, but not under 10.6.2: try enabling the "Legacy Compatibility Mode" in Candelair's prefs and relaunch the incompatible application in question. When this mode is active, the Candelair driver mimics the 10.5 version of the OS X driver. The solution for developers to OS version compatibility issues: our driver-independent HIDRemote class.

New in Candelair 1.0.2 (Oct 29, 2009)

  • Enhancement: Support for "Safe Boot" booting mode (the driver is loaded later during the boot process).
  • Fix: Bugfixes.
